Last weekend I visited Hotel Spaander with my husband. The location is perfect, the view of the lake incredible, and the hotel cute in its quirkiness. When we got there we were surprised in a good way. But ordering drinks at the bar (no they didn't come to the table) that feeling turned around. I've heard about Dutch straightness before... More

located on the main street of volendam, with lots of cafes and shops around it, very nice. hotel is very beautiful, room is clean and comfy. staff is nice too. breakfast is a bit expensive, but worth it because the cafes around the hotel opens at 9 or 10 so if you need early breakfast, better get from the hotel... We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights on a shearings holiday this week. The hotel is on the main street in the middle of Volendam but the dining rooms and lots of the bedrooms overlook the water at the rear. We had a room with a balcony on the third floor with a view across the water to Marken.... More

I booked this property in February for my May 1st trip., using booking.com. It was guaranteed with a credit card and had a cancellation penalty. On April 27th I received an email from the hotel that they could not honor my reservation due "to a computer error". We had two rooms reserved so I had to scramble around to find... More

Stayed here for a business meeting for 1 night. Volendam is extremely touristic and loses a lot of its appeal due to this. The hotel has the same issue: underneath it is an old, typical place but it does not really give an authentic feeling. The employees were nice and helpful and treied to resolve problems as fast as they... More

Very nice and cozy hotel. The whole atmosphere is very inspiring with the paintings on the walls. The restaurant of the hotel serves very nice dishes. We tried the dish with duck and the one the veal and both were very well cooked.

Stayed here as an alternative to staying in Amsterdam and found it both comfortable and cosy, really good value for money. If you're tired of anonymous, overpriced city hotels this is the place for you. It has a very charming, individual style with artworks and antiques all over the place, and the rooms are small but well furnished and comfortable.... More

Found this georgous Hotel-Restaurant-Pub while strolling through the streets of Volendam. While the girls were busy shopping went in and immediately felt thirsty for a pint of beer. What a lovely way to wait for the girls.

We were in Volendum last week and our guide had scheduled lunch for us at this restaurant. Story goes that the owner, an art lover, back in the day, to support the poor artists, asked them to make paintings in return for good food. And boy is this place packed with a treat to your eyes. The walls are crammed... More

The hotel was extremely charming, clean, and surprisingly large! There are numerous amenities, and we opted into the buffet breakfast which was plentiful and delicious. In terms of staying in Volendam, it is very easy to take the bus into the center. I believe a day pass is 10 euros. The staff were an odd mix. Some were quite friendly,... More
