Room was smallish, but nice. Bathroom was quite large with a great soaking tub, separate shower, plenty of amenities. The location was quiet, but walking distance to many attractions, shops, restaurants and the train. I even walked to the Sportcentrum Galgenwaard, which was about 1.5 miles, but a pleasant walk. Peaceful grounds, an elegant bar and lovely Bistro, with good...

My friend and I visited this hotel for a special celebration. We decided to stay in Utrecht as a welcome change from Amsterdam where I'm from. We stayed in a beautiful room on the third floor, overlooking the historic garden. One really does not get the idea he or she are right in the busy center of the bustling city...

A superb hotel located perfectly with brilliant accommodating staff. The room was fantastic, high ceilings, a large spacious bathroom with separate shower and bath. The hotel amenities are superb, from the grounds to the wellness area. The staff were extremely accommodating. The hotel itself is a 10 min walk from the train station and a 3 mins walk to the...

We stayed as a family of 3 for 2 nights over Easter weekend. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the city, a short walk from the station and also the town. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and knowledgable, and no request was a problem for them. The room we had in the old...

We have just visited this historic hotel and were delighted by it. It has an old-world charm about it. We had an Empire room on the 4th floor, which gave us a great view of the Dom, the back courtyard and the rooftops of Utrecht. We didn't eat at the restaurant, however breakfast was fantastic, with a separate menu for...

It was probably my 12th time in Karel V and I must say over the years the place has only improved. This time I stayed in the classic wing, for the first time and it was totally worth the upgrade, the room was big, well decorated and had a lovely view of the courtyard. the service was fantastic as always....

We only stayed one night as we were attending a concert that evening. Having come from the very touristy area of Amsterdam, this was the exact opposite. While it has tourists, Utrecht is far more laid back and relaxed with little or no pressure to spend or do things. We were very early at the hotel and despite this we...

We stayed here in August 2016 for three nights. The location of this hotel is wonderful - close to everything yet felt isolated and quiet. I was surprised how average this hotel was for the cost. The room and furnishings felt old, although it was a large room. Average bathroom and amenities. While we were here, most of the grounds...

"Classical yet contemporary! The spacy room provided for my one night stay at Grand Hotel Karel V is nothing but exceptional. The room is located in the very end of the floor where I could enjoy the long carpet way from the elevator. Inside the room is a well-thought division of every guest’s needs. Designed with the classy cloth connected...

The hotel is very well located just next to the old town, has a great inner coartyard (with small park), has all the services of a good quality five star hotel and has different styles of rooms. I had a deluxe room in the roman wing. Room was spacious but rather old fashioned decorated. Bathroom had light from outside but...
