For me a visit here was always going to be the Holy Grail as its my favourite beer in the World. It did not disappoint. Excellent tours of the working brewery which would be closed if in UK due to Health & Safety. Trip hazards, holes in the floor, doors that opened onto sheer drops. Billiant, brilliant brilliant. Part museum,...

This hotel is handy to all things Mechelen but its website is a bit deceiving. The web showed fresh, modern rooms. My room was very tired and dated. It was not fresh smelling. It was clean -- no problems there. The bathroom was adequate. The free Wi-Fi never did work for more than 1-2 minutes and it went off. It...

Hotel Het Anker in Mechelen is a rare bird. An old family.owned brewery has included a hotel part with a few rooms. Be sure to include the tour to the brewing part with tasting of first class Belgian beer (Goude Carolus)

Stayed for one night in connection with visit to the adjacent Het Anker Brewery. Spacious rooms, good beds, adequate breakfast. Very friendly staff and good value for money. Had dinner in the Brasserie, strongly recommended if you enjoy good beer along with a nice meal. Mechelen in itself probably hasn't too much to offer, but again the brewery is well...

This was our first stop on our recent European vacation. Having flown from Canada for many hours, we were pretty tired when we arrived at the hotel. The lovely check in lady and cleaning staff moved things around so that we could get into our room early. We were very grateful. Given that this is an old hotel, the room...

The hotel stands on the grounds of the Anker brewery. It consists of 2 floors. If you like to sleep with the window open, ask for a room on the 1st floor (the windows are on the street side). The rooms are very spacious and the beds are good. Neat bathroom with toilet and shower cabin. Watch out for a...

We spent one night at the hotel, which is situated next door to the brewery – the brewery which makes some of the best beers in the world. We took the opportunity to visit Mechelen and took the recommended beer walk. Mechelen is by the way a beautiful town. The rooms are pretty standard.

Sat by the bar, did not stay in the hotel. They make some excellent beers and I believe they are made right there, on site. All their different styles were very good. Food looked good there, too. They also have a small store where you can buy their beers and some other related stuff. Very cool space inside, nice and...

Great hotel, good breakfast (continental buffet). On site restaurant. Rooms comfortable but can e noisy if you are on the road side of the hotel. The car parking is small but free parking is available across the road. Beer available for sale at reception for taking away.

While visiting Mechelen, we stayed over at the Anker hotel. Both the hotel and restaurant are inspired by the underlying Anker brewery, so everything is beer based. Authentic scenery, nice rooms, nice breakfast, good location towards the center of Mechelen.
