Well located for centre of Mechelen. Opposite the cathedral with good public parking under the square. Rooms very average and a bit tired. Staff splendid. Breakfast OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but neither would I object if I was in town again.

This hotel is located in conveniently in the center of town and within walking distance of everything you could want in Mechelen. The staff if very courteous and helpful, and overall things are OK. The Good: Breakfast is straight and to the point. Eggs and Bacon, a little bit of everything, gets the job done. The room has new TV's...

Nice refurbished and clean 17th century hotel at very moderate prices, close to underground (expensive) parking at the bottom of the St Romboutstower (must see). Beware of the tower bells for the light sleepers. Rooms are hot and open windows atract mosquitos.

Located next door to the towering Mechelen Cathedral this hotel looks as though it was built a hundred years ago - which it probably was. However the proximity to the Cathedral means that light sleepers located on the front of the hotel will be woken on the hour by the clock chiming. Traffic on the cobbled road outside also creates...

I've stayed in this hotel a few times on business. The rooms are clean but basic as is the breakfast room. Breakfast is lacking in choice and the coffee is variable. I would not avoid but certainly would not be rushing back.

Ok the double bed was very small but the view at the square was good. The huge rectangular window was great.I liked the breakfast. The hotel is next to the cathedral. Although it is old (it needs immediately refurbishing except the bathroom which was recently renovated) it has class. It brings you to old times...

I stayed at this hotel in October. Amzingly mosquitos were still active and I could see some of them in my room either alive or dead (part of the wall decoration). I also did not enjoy the worn out signs on walls. Otherwise the location is great and the personnel is friendly and helpful. I think some few changes would...

Organized an offsite for 28 colleagues in May 2012. Very nice experience, good contact with the manager (Karin) who was very helpfull. We used the whole hotel, so we could have a party until 2am. Nice patio. Rooms were very clean, as were the bathroom. Breakfast was OK.

The good things about this hotel are its location next to the Cathedral, its cheerful receptionist, and convenient parking for bicycles. The rooms, however, are musty, un-ventilated and dreary. On warm summer days the heat is unbearable. The front rooms are noisy as the surface of the road just outside amplifies the sound of early morning rubbish collection vans and other...

We have just spent 3 nights at the Den Wolsack in Mechelen situated close to St. Rumbout's Cathedral, famed for its carillon bell tower, and many good bars and restaurants. Both bed and bath rooms were large and spacious but as the weather was extremely hot during our stay it did show up the distinct lack of air conditioning although...
