This B&B is located in the heart of Hasselt and underground parking is available just 50 metres away. A very warm and friendly welcome by Bart en Elke, our hosts. Our room was streetside with a little balcony, spacious with a comfortable bed and all the comfort one could expect. The breakfast was amazing: bacon, eggs, fresh fruit cockail, granola, a wide variety of bread and so on. We could really recommend this B&B and for sure we are staying here again on our next trip to Hasselt!
This hotel was a great place to stay the room was set out to a high standard the only thing in the room that needs changing is the floor as it looks like the bath had overflowed and some of the floor had swelled up. The couple that run the hotel were very passionate about the hard work they had put into the reinvention work they had done to a high standard. The breakfast was very well presented and a full rundown by the owner down to the homemade jam one place I’d go to again thanks for a great experience.
Fantastic choice! In The Heart oh Hasselt, Brand new hotel with all comfort. Staff really kind. Rooms cool And new. I had One with fantastic garden View! Breakfast with chic touch But with lots of choices. I Will come Back surely. Goodbye from italy
Very nice and charming hotel in the centre of the city, underground parking a few steps away. Only 5 rooms run by a couple who do it perfect. Friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast served at Your table, freshly made. Nice and spacious rooms with a modern but warm look. The view from the window is a bit ugly (modern postoffice building) but the owners can't do much about that. Excellent hotel for a citytrip to Hasselt!
As a hotel Het Menneke boast a rating of 2 stars (only), but it looks and feels more like a b&b really. Service is friendly and informal, rooms are tidy, beds comfortable. The three story building lacks an elevator. Situated in the heart of a small market town, soundproofing of the windows is excellent, so is the airco. Wooden staircase and corridor are quite noisy though. No soundproofing of the rooms towards the corridor at all I'm afraid (see tip). Breakfast is decent enough, but served individually at the table, no self service buffet. In case of an extended stay breakfast will be exactly the same every day.
I have stayed at the Menneke several times whilst on business trips to Hasselt, without fail I am always made to feel most welcome and leave refreshed and ready for a days work. The rooms are super clean, fresh and quiet, which considering the city centre location is a blessing. the breakfast is amazing, being freshly prepared for you as you drink your first coffee. Bart the friendly owner, converted the building himself and if you ask nicely he will show you the photo's. you can see why he is so passionate, he has put his heart and soul into Het Menneke.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The price wasn't cheap, but given the location, the spacious room and super fresh tasty breakfast, I do think price/quality are in balance. Got a real family like feeling when being welcomed by the host. Very nice guy! Felt liked he loved his job and was having fun in a relaxed way..
Had a fabulous 2 night stay as part of my 40th Birthday celebrations which coincided with a beer festival. Beautifully decorated hotel, comfortable and a wonderful breakfast each morning. Hotel is also located in a great place within a lovely town. Would highly recommend this hotel.
I had the pleasure of staying albeit briefly at this hotel on business, comfortable spacious bedrooms, a warm welcome and a lovely fresh cooked breakfast, hassalt is a lovely town filled with great restaurants, I can't wait to visit again (without the business bit)! I stayed in the Japanese twin, lovely X
I had an absolutely delightful visit here for four nights last month. Had the "gin" room. Spacious, clean, stocked minibar, great bed/pillows, great shower. Great TV options. Good wifi. Bart, the owner, couldn't be nicer and makes coffee to order along with a fabulous breakfast. Always served with a big smile. You have to walk up a flight or two of stairs, but so what. Location is across from the post office and within 50 yards of a pharmacy and grocery store. An easy walk from the train station. No hesitation recommending this place without reservation. I felt like i was visiting a good friend.
