Seems like the owners have lost interest. Door handle missing on door, bits falling off, communual fridge had water or coke, restaurant closed down. Nice location and has a bit of character. Were spoiled by staying in Studio 17 in Ghent before this. Wifi signal not strong and only available in some parts of room

The only two faults we could find with this hotel was that the SatNav couldn't find it and sent us over the main river but thankfully we found it on the printed map on our reservation so a quick 5 minute trip and we were there. The second was feather filled quilts which are very luxurious but can affect those...

Firstly we arrived with nobody there! Once greeted we where led to our bedroom (joining room) There was no bed clothes on the bed and the blankets and mattresses where disgusting! The whole room was filthy with dead flys etc on the wall, the windows rotten, floors dirty! After the nights sleep we all woke with bites from god knows...

We stayed in the hotel only one night, location is perfect and not so far from the city. We had the room 7 (Library room), it has a nice atmosphere but the position of the bed isn't the best (just in front of the entrance door so you could hear the people from other room). Good ensuite even if a...

Room 16 - corner room. Lovely to wake to a view of the park, and the morning calls of chickens and sheep. Yep. It's a bit Fawlty Towers - but only in a charming way. Yes it needs a lick of paint and some steam cleaning - but the basics are right, and the attitude is great. And "honesty" drinks...

Ok, you are not in the citycnenter, but the hotel is 5 min walk to the main tramway (nr 1) with the best service of all. This will bring you in less than 15 min in the citycenter where you whant. You'll stay in a cottagestyle hotel with 16 very nice rooms, in a small quiet park. If nice wheter,...

Quite frankly I wish I'd trusted my gut instinct and not even bothered to climb the stairs to the room. Here's my experience In no particular order: We had an interleading room - which meant 2 fairly stark rooms with a hideously colourful bathroom shared between the two. The TV looked ancient and reception was so bad that we didnt...

A large room with a relaxing atmosphere, very well decorated with wooden furniture. Comfortable and clean. 4 large windows looking onto the park and a little stream passing just in front with the ducks swimming in it. If you leave the curtains open, in the morning you feel like waking up in a forest. Our room (number 6) was not...

We stayed here on the last night of a road trip to break our journey back to Calais. It's a slightly out of the way place, but still only ten minutes by tram to the centre of Ghent. Set in a large park, there are various playgrounds for kiddies and it's a nice relaxing walk around after an evening in...

“the 'castel of Maaltje' is welknown and easy to find. To acces the chalet, you have to acces the castle by the smal bridge and follow the way. It's not well indicated. Consider that in sunny time, overday the terras is populor for those who found this hidden secret”
