Bed in Gent is in a quiet residential street, a couple of minutes walk from Dampoort railway station and about ten minutes from the historic centre. We stayed in the second-floor room which consists of a large bathroom and a spacious bed/sitting room in a clean attic-like style, with free wi-fi, and a record player with an eclectic choice of...

What everyone else has said about Bed in Gent is true. It is quite simply delightful. My parents and I stayed here in August 2011 for a long weekend and it couldn't have been better. Tom is a wonderful host and ambassador for Gent. The perfect location in a funky neighbourhood combined with Tom's local knowledge meant an easy stay...

Second time at Bed in Gent, and still impressed. For good reason. Bed in Gent has it all. Location? Check! You are 5 minutes from Dampoort (rail) station, 10 minutes from great neighborhood restaurants and 15 minutes from world class museums, historic attractions, bars and parks. Cool neighborhood? Check! If you are not an urban type, Gent could tip you...

Tom was wonderful and took very good care at breakfast choosign wonderful cheese and danish selections from local shops near his home instead of supermarkets. I'm not sure what more I could say about Bed in Ghent that hasn't already been said by everyone else, it certainly deserves its top rating, it's a fabulous place to stay. I'll use the space to provide some train-travel advice instead :-). If you're arriving by train, Bed in Ghent is next to the Ghent-Dampoort station, with the main...

Tom's house is a welcoming base in the uncommon yet very cool destination of Ghent. My husband and I recently spent a bank holiday in Ghent and thoroughly enjoyed the town and our stay at Bed in Ghent. Tom immediately makes his guests feel welcome on arrival and gives welcome advice on things to do and see in Ghent. His...

Would highly recommend Bed in Gent. Tom was so helpful and the house is charming in a quiet part of town. Convenient for the centre and places of interest - just a few minutes walk away. My room couldn't have been more clean, the bed was comfortable and breakfast (including jam courtesy of Tom's mum) was delicious.

On re-reading the reviews there isn't much more I can add, this place is great .. it pretty well ticks all the boxes: ~ Short easy walk from Dampoort station wheeling a suitcase ~ Easy to find the red front door ~ 10 minute walk to town centre (and a bus stop only a minute away) ~ Clean, spacious bedroom...

Tom's B&B really is something special and we very much enjoyed our two days with him. He has converted his small house really beautifully and made the first and second floors into spotless and comfy ensuite guest accommodation. There is street parking available nearby for 3 euros per day. He is a very welcoming and charming host who is happy...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A roomy guest-house, the bright south-oriented bathrooms and the shared dining room with a dash of modern retro - really, do not skip breakfast in that dining room. Also a friendly neighborhood, very much alive (without the rush). A fashionable quarter, if you like, with the marina nearby. It takes a five-minute walk to the railway station. Only ten minutes to my favorite coffee shop or the library. ... more   less
