We stayed at the Hans Memling in December for the Christmas Markets. The hotel has a fantastic location and you can walk everywhere. The rooms were plain and simple but clean and tidy. Staff were friendly. Breakfasts were lovely...buffet style with scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, croissants, pastries, tea and coffee. A great base for a stay in Bruges.

The Hans Memling is a pleasant hotel, very well located near the main square of the town but off the main drag. It is comfortable and clean although not perhaps stylish. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast is ok but not wonderful. The bar provides a nice place to sit in the evening. My room was an attic with...

My wife took one look at the hotel and knew we were in for an adventure. The receptionist checked us in, and we asked if we could have a double bed, she said that none were available, but we would get two singles pushed together. She then warned us to take the back elevator, as the one up front was...

We were more than happy with this hotel. Though the 'outside' rooms can be noisy (bin lorries, buses) this didn't trouble us at all. The staff were excellent, helpful and courteous, and all spoke good English. It's walking distance to the main square and all the restaurants available there. You can save on a taxi back to the station, too...

Stayed in single room in October. It's ok for the money and you want a no thrills room. 1) Room (3rd floor) clean if a little old fashioned. Smelt a little of stale tobacco, but that was soon sorted by opening the window. Quiet too. Had small TV and mini bar. 2) Bathroom ok,but you had to be careful if...

This hotel is in the perfect location in Bruges, literally a 2 minute walk from the main square, which means all the sights are on your doorstep but when you've had enough, you can retreat to the hotel on its quiet street for some peace and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly, spoke good English and were happy...

My wife & I stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and found the staff to be extreemly helpful, any request was dealt with immediately. The breakfasts were excellent and plenty of it. The room was very comfortable and most of all very clean. The bar was the nicest one we had been in for a long time, bar prices...

My wife and I stayed in in the Hans Memling hotel for 2 nights in December of 2006, the hotel was small and without atmosphere. The rooms were very basic and the noise from the street below was very off putting, I would not stay here again however the hotel is situated right off the main square so is ideal...

The gentleman at the front desk was very unfriendly and rude. The room was not very cleanly and the shower didn't drain. The price was fairly inexpensive and the location was good. It's up to you to decide what is most important to you when traveling. I prefer friendly service and a clean room.
