Amazing hotel. 100 yards from the square. Parking outside. We arrived Saturday evening which parking was free and free on a sunday. Museum very near by and the Last Post. Rooms were excellent. Breakfast continential. Staff really helpful. Everything you need was in this hotel and such great value.

The Cons Very poor disabled access to reception (two narrow and steep steps from the street). The 16:00 check-in time (don't arrive at 15:30 you will be curtly turned away with your case!) The rooms are functional no more and very (I stress very) small. Two single beds pushed together with a common headboard is not a twin room. One... More

I recently led a cycle trip of 29 clients, 19 of whom I put into the Alliance hotel. The hotel was advised we were leaving quite early next morning necessitating an early breakfast. I found the reception my clients and I had was at best frosty, the response to my request for an earlier breakfast than the 8am was met... More

The rooms are fine but if you have an upstairs one you might find the stairs a bit steep. There is nothing special about this hotel, either good or bad. You are paying for the location which is excellent for the central square and Menin Gate. We didn't find the parking as easy or convenient as we expected. Breakfast was... More

Great long weekend with friends, staff friendly, rooms clean and pleasant. Breakfast was simple but lots of it and breakfast was relaxed, table for 10 so we could all eat breakfast together. Would have been 5 stars but no tea and coffee making facility in the room. Hotel close to main square and Menin Gate.

I try to be positive and flexible but this hotel beat me down. The free parking was over a ten minute walk away in a public park. The room was so small you had to walk sideways past the bed. We only got clean towels when we requested them and the room was not made up daily. Breakfast was ok... More

Booked 2 double rooms for one night. Both were dated but comfortable. Ground floor room was nicely accessible but the high ceiling skylight let in too much light and many mosquitoes all night ! - There was no way of shutting the skylight - this was the only air into the room. Shower over bath is difficult for anyone with... More
