My co-worker and I were there for a business trip and stayed for two days in January. My original room was 421 but was right next to the elevator but the front desk was able to change it to 717; both overlooked the circular area that has all the restaurants/shops. The room was good for one person and happy to see the barn door for the bathroom instead of a door that opens to inside or outside as well as a walk-in shower with glass door instead of a tub/shower combo with a fabric/plastic shower curtain. The room had two queen beds along with the living space with desk. The window had two layers of shades so the room could be dark when needed. The pool was a decent size as well as the fitness area. The included breakfast was very good with several hot and cold options. We had dinner here one night and the food was good along with the portion size. Parking was free and was fortunate enough to find parking in the lot that is in the middle of the plaza, rather than having to go below to the parking garage. When traveling to Cartago, I would definitely stay here again.…

Everything was great. Amazing location. All sort of restaurants at your by the hotel. Never needed to leave the hotel area for anything as there is pretty much everything you need within a minute away walk

Very clean, Staff were excellent Breakfast was good Staff was friendly And it was a 5 minute walk to my dentist. The area felt very safe. Unfortunately I was there for extensive dental work, so i guess i really didn't get to enjoy it fully.

My stay at Hyatt Place was one of the best stays in a hotel that sticks in my memory. The hotel was always clean and the staff was always happy and attentive. They spoke very good English which certainly made the visit easy for me (I speak on Spanish). Everything was clean all the time and the elevators were very quiet and fast. It was truly a pleasure staying at Hyatt Place San Jose/Pinares!! Don't stay anyplace else!

Hotel condition is good and the free breakfast is better than many other chains, however, the location of the hotel is very far from everything else in San Jose, which means a lot of time in traffic and very expensive taxi rides ($50 in airport taxi). Set in a upscale stripmall with many dining and store options and Walmart is across the street, so basically anything cheap you could possibly want. Service was subpar, compared to other countries, not sure about domestic comparisons since this was only hotel we stayed at, rest were Air BnBs.

Hyatt Place hotel has a great location, near restaurants and bars, a theater and a movie complex. So a great place to spend a night in town and then go back to the hotel and sleep and rest in a super quiet room.
