We were really eager to visit this place but just after the booking the hotel wrote to me that the place is only for adults! Of course I am very disappointed and I think that a place that is not family friendly should be saying it clearly in every ad! Such a shame!

Yes our hotel is only adults, we announced in our web, we also announced in booking , so we understand that you may not like our policy, but we are transparent about it. The only problem is that you don,t have enough time to read our information but you take your time to leave this negative opinion. More

Poor service. Not lift to go to rooms. From parking you nearly need to climb to hotel around 100 mts. Hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. Hotel rooms are good and new. You need to drive 10 kms to have dinner in a town near hotel. Breakfast miserable, we had small cup of fresh orange juice and we... More

In our profile on trip advisor you can see that we are accredited with the certificate of excellence. Getting this certificate is not easy, many people throughout the year have to show his satisfaction with the stay in our hotel giving us a high score. Should be at least a 4* if not 5. A boutique hotel of the first order in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful. Stunning and housing a gorgeous Leonburger that our dog took an instant dislike to but she was fenced off so no harm was done. We had a balcony. The room was large and the bathroom luxurious. The guest... More

We came from the french side of the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles and wanted to stay overnight but all hotels were booked solid. So we searched nearby and fount this fantastic place. We found the hotel very easily in this village with only 9 inhabitants, the name says it all: Torre!. The way up to the entrance is quite steep but... More

This place is impressive in every way: The tall building that has history and the interior that has been chosen to match its majestic presence. Very very tasteful modern design that oozes quality and tender love and care for its upkeep. There were designer pieces throughout the house. I think there were some Danish PH lamps in the kitchen and... More

We wanted to visit Pamplona but avoid staying overnight in the city. The Hotel Rural Torre de Uriz was perfectly located (only 30 minutes drive to Pamplona and away from the hustle& bustle). The setting is idyllic and the "tower room" which we stayed in was great. It was very spacious, very clean and comfortable (the bed was very comfy)... More

The hotel is an absolute gem set in a beautiful location near the Spanish /French border. Renovated and run by Paula and Jesus. The striking outside is in contrast to the warm stylish simple interior. Although night time temperatures were -5° centigrade the hotel was cosy. Our bedroom was large with great views over the hills and forests. A large... More

We first visited the Hotel Rural Torre de Uriz in May 2011 and loved it so much that with another motorcycle tour of France and Spain we just had to go back. Well it may have been two years ago since we last visited but the hotel still looks like new, the standards of service and cleaning are exceptional but... More

Terrific stopover on route to Bilbao after crossing the mountains. Gracious hosts, very decent breakfast and dinner with many options. Wonderful areas to walk and breathe the air of the forest. Bravo!!

If you travel from Paris to Bilbao, as we did, you better stop for rest and to recharge your energy. There is no better place than the rural, small hotel ( six rooms only) in Uriz. The best room is in the tower with a panoramic view of the countryside. The hosts are friendly and provide guests with nice breakfast... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Torre de Uriz Hotel, a small rural hotel located in the same village in Arce's Valley. According to Uriz description, dated 1785: it is one of the very ancient villages, celebrated for its nobility, so most of the houses have a coat of arms. No doubt this is right; Uriz is a beautiful town that holds in its urban fabric and in its architectural heritage of beautiful gothic and defence towers the charm of medieval villages. It is just in one of those towers, declared of Cultural Interest in 1949, where the Hotel Torre de Uriz is located. It has a privileged location just 14 miles away from the collegiate church of Roncesvalles, at the start of the Route of Santiago de Compostela (Way of Saint James) in the eastern Pyrenees of Navarre. The hotel location and its access, through a newly built road, make the hotel a perfect base to explore the spectacular Irati forest, to practice birdwatching in the gorges of Lumbier or Arbayun and even as an option to bear in mind after spending a long feast day in Pamplona during the San Fermin. ... more   less
