At the end of our Newfoundland two-week holiday we stayed at this Gem! The location overlooking Witless Bay has to be seen to be appreciated. One word - Awesome! A big beautiful home that was opened up to us. Beautifully decorated with a Newfoundland flair. Our bedroom overlooked the bay and included a fireplace. Beds were very comfortable with high quality linens. The gathering room had a wood burning fireplace and floor to ceiling windows with a full view of the bay and beautiful full moon. The breakfast was made to order including a variety of home made jams. Elaine's blueberry muffins were amazing! What made this place so special was Elaine herself! Her stories, her sense of humour and down home hospitality made it a wonderful stay. It was nice to meet Dan, her mother and the rest of her family. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed a relaxing time here. Thank you Elaine! We certainly look forward to returning!

We had booked a boat excursion to see seabird colonies and could have stayed in St. John's, but this place looked attractive. Indeed, it was a very well kept, large house, right on a headland with the sea crashing on the rocks below the edge of the spacious, grassy front lawn. Elaine was very congenial, and graciously accommodated a dozen for a satisfying breakfast featuring, among other things, fresh local berries. The sleeping accommodations we had upstairs were comfortable, though we found the wireless up there could have used a local booster when we tried to stream the online national news. Anyway, it sufficed. Our only difficult moment was finding the place on initial arrival, since although there was good signage directing us there from the highway, there seemed to be nothing to confirm we were at the right place when we got there. Luckily Elaine's husband was working in the garage and assured us that we had successfully made it. The rest was happiness.

What a lovely stay! Elaine is welcoming, funny, and feisty! She was the perfect hostess - directed us to where we could buy wine and made reservations for us at the Captain's table. Our room was beautiful, very clean, and large! There is a very nice set of guest "common rooms" to enjoy. Breakfast was excellent - fruit, warm muffins, and eggs made to order with a very large side of bacon. The breakfast room is large and filled with guests who shared adventures and recommendations. We watched a minke whale feeding directly in front of the house!

Elaine is a wonderful host of her B & B. This property is clean, quiet, comfortable, with stunning views of the ocean. The views are witnessed from the breakfast area, and a selection of outdoor seating. The common areas are comfortable. Our room had a panoramic view and an ensuite. Bathrooms and ocean views vary from room to room. Breakfast is 7:30 - 9 (coffee is ready earlier), and includes fresh baked muffins, fruit, yogurt, bacon, eggs (your choice on how cooked) , juice, excellent coffee and toast. Parking is excellent and easy to get in and out. Relax, spend time on the decks, or chairs on the lawn and soak up the ocean views. 5 STARS.

Great parking, fabulous view of the bay, very comfortable room. Place was super clean. Elaine and Dan are great hosts. Breakfast was home cooked and delicious. We preferred to stay there rather than in Saint Johns but it was an easy drive for a day of touring in that city. Wish we would have been able to see some whales, but maybe another time. Not a bad thing to say about our stay there.

We were two couples in our 60's travelling to Nfld for the first time and this was our first night's stay. What a great time we had! Elaine and Dan are great hosts and the breakfast was perfect and delicious! It was so nice to sit around the table and chat with other couples who were either just arriving like us or had been there for a while and shared their stories and adventures. The four of us played cards at night and spent some quality time outside sitting and watching the water. What a million dollar view! We had a tv in our room but who needs a tv with such great views and great conversation with the hosts. The rooms and washrooms were spotless and comfy. I would definitely recommend this place to couples. I would also stay here again!!! Loved Elaine's sense of humour. She made us feel like we were long time friends! Thanks again Elaine and Dan for a wonderful first day in your beautiful province!! P.S We ate dinner at The Captains Table and it was excellent and just up the road!

Travwlling to Newfoundland for my first time with my long time friend we were thrilled to find Elaines and stayed two nights. Elaine helped us book a puffin tour the next day leaving from Bay Bulls which was amazing and we saw another quaint village nestled in a bay.. Elaine went above and beyond with her breakfasts and sitting around her lovely table overlooking the ocean and chatting with other travellers was great every morning. Howard and I wish Elaine and Dan all the best for their furutre ventures and can never thank them enough for such a memorable stay at the begingin of our Newfoundland trip..

Elaine is a great host. We had room #1 which has a great view and a comfortable bed. The second night the power went out but when we got up in the morning for breakfast Elaine had gone out to get coffee for us at a coffee shop and was cooking bacon and eggs on the BBQ. How can you beat that for hospitality? Highly recommended. We were close to many places to visit as well.

Elaine’s B and B is a wonderful place to stay. The property itself, sits right on the bay and has a magnificent view of the harbor. We stayed in room 1, with a king bed and loved it.
Elaine is a warm and friendly person, as well as a wonderful hostess who tries to make you feel at home. She will work with you on breakfast and suggest where to eat and the activities available in the area.
This is a really hospitable B&B.

Such a great location, wonderful hosts and a beautiful home to be able to stay at! Witless Bay is close to St Johns, Bay Bulls, Cape Spear, you name it. So much to see and do on this part of the East Coast trail. We stayed at Elaine’s for 3 nights, wish we could have stayed longer. She set the bar high for the remainder of our 2 weeks in Newfoundland. So many special touches from the puffin nightlight covers, robes and amazing breakfast everyday! Loved the common areas and we lucked into awesome guests to visit with over breakfast. Loved being on the cliff above the seashore. Eagles and otters oh my! Great recommendation for supper at the Captains Table. We had a king suite… beautiful view over the harbour and amazing to watch the sun come up through our windows. Loved the chats with Elaine and Dan, such fine folks to share their home with! Thanks for starting our vacay off on the highest note!

don't think dogs are allowed but in st. vincent beach is a B&B called whale sound and they have a dog them self so you could try them also
