Ok this is no 5 star hotel! The apartments are clean, if basic with dated furniture, some of It traditional Portuguese, but the resort is beautifully kept, with lovely plants, and trees throughout the grounds, while we were there lots of the buildings getting their, probable...More
Very tranquil resort in winter with an excellent indoor pool. Very close to excellent beaches.
Plenty of resteraunts to choose from and theres a local supermarket that sells pretty much everything.
We will return
We stayed at Vila Senhora da Rocha Feb to Apr 2016, using it as a home base for our vacation exploring Portugal. The resort is beautiful. Their chef Antonio was fantastic. Highly recommend their restaurant by the pool. We are already booked for to return...More
this place is basically closed from December 1st.....you can still book rooms /villas etc but the only thing open on the complex is reception and the swimming pools.

Hi Fiona, as others have mentioned there is a pool side cafe/restaurant serving the usual. Outside the complex on a reasonably flat road sloping down towards the sea and church is Lords Bar and also Aquamar - both in the same new building and both serving food, although Aquamar is more posh nosh and Lords is more bar food. Uphill are a couple of Italian's and Indian's although we were not impressed by one of the Indian ones. If you don't have any major mobility issues I would also definitely recommend the beach restaurant, Vilarinho which is a 10 min downhill walk - lovely setting and really good food. Hope this helps.
