Amazing staff and place!! Can't fault a thing. Home away from home. Would highly recommend staying here because it's so welcoming and so much fun. Mumma crepes are the best thing in the morning and her secret tea!!

Thoughout 6 years of traveling I stayed in dozens of hostels, few measure up to The Rising Cock. 'Mama' who runs it has a profound understanding of hostel hospitality. At breakfast she serves crepes, believe me the phrase," You can't have a crepe if you don't have a plate", will be of your best memories. Top marks for the staff,...

Arrived at the rising cock hostel mid-day to the sound of someone throwing up in the bathroom by the lobby, and the smell of moldy cheese and laundry that never dried correctly. Also was greeted by a slideshow of college kids motorboating each other and blacked out drinking. got to our 4 person room and the entire area smelled terrible,...

Best hostel I have ever experienced! They supply a party person every night which makes meeting new ppl very easy. Also highly recommend the booze cruise they offer. Mamma's food is also a big hit. Everything talked up about this hostel is absolutely true & life changing.

I was here on off-season and almost didn't come, but I'm glad I changed my mind! This is a fun party hostel and I felt safe and well taken care of. The dorms are fine: small, with very few electrical sockets and fewer lockers than beds in my room (and the lockers wouldn't have fit a backpack anyways) but this...

By far the best party hostel I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Everyone was up for it... including the staff. Mama made sure everyone was looked after every morning with a healtly load of pancakes with all the sauces. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Lagos! Awesome booze cruise and a pub crawl every night. Love it.

A fantastic hostel located perfectly adjacent to the beach and night spots. The hostel is a quick walk to the best restaurants in Lagos. The rooms are simple and clean. Ma, the proprietor, is a legend and makes fantastic crepes each morning. This hostel also went searching for something expensive that I left behind and also posted it to me...

If you want to meet people and experience the nightlife than you should stay here! They organise free pub crawls every night, the staff is really fun! In the morning you get free crepes and during the day you can chill in the living room or go to the beach. It feels more like being at home than a hostel....

Best hostel in Lagos. Mama is an amazing host that cooks up pancakes each morning and helps you recover from your hangover. Really comfortable couch and netflix in the communal area for when you're feeling seedy from what is a pretty wild pubcrawl each night.

I'm not sure how I feel about this place. The breakfast and Mama is definitely the greatest thing about this place. Every morning, Mama makes crepes and Tiki Tiki (some magical hangover lemon tea) in her kitchen. Everyone is crammed in there recovering from the previous night. At first it feels weird seeing a bunch of grown men in their...
