Hotel has great amenities including walking trails, "whale watch" tower, pool, Ocean swimming decks, Sauna, fitness room, restaurant and bar. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel/resort is very beautiful and well equipped with amenities and things to do. BUT it is not for the mobility challenged! My husband and I are in our late 70s, and in pretty good shape, but the steep stone stairways and rough cobbles had us out of breath and nervous of falling. The pathways and stairs were covered with...

Aldeia da Fonte is more of a lodge than a hotel. The buildings are traditional style construction and the suites are fairly large. The hotel grounds are beautiful and green, and you are right above the sea, so the view is incredible. The staff is very friendly. On our first night, which happened to be my mom's birthday (which they...

We were so pleased to arrive at the hotel. The scent of flowers was in the breeze. The staff was welcoming. Our room was well appointed and in a quiet area. The birds were singing, the sun was shining. The furnishings of our room were simple but lovely with a wonderful bathtub and shower. We especially enjoyed the walks on...

Aldeia da Fonte is not a Caribbean-style 'luxury' resort. It is much more like a small, family-run European hotel. Yes, the beds are very firm! But the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, and --most important-- the natural setting is absolutely beautiful and utterly peaceful. All the staff, but especially Paulo and Claudia, were extremely helpful and charming (and all spoke...

The setting is stupendous, no question. Basalt casitas amidst lush greens and gardens overlooking the ocean. Very romantic, with the emphasis in spa relaxation. But in winter the pool is too cold and the walks down to the cliffs are strewn with slippery leaves. Great sauna for two to heat up the afternoon. The restaurant is reputed to be the...

Loved the lodgin. The morning walk with sea views was memorable. Try to visit the vigia da baleia to look for whales or spearfishing people in the water! The breakfast could be improved. Recomend for a short stay.

Cool location with natural swimming cove. Beautiful landscape on the coast. A little away from the beaten path but worth the excursion. Additionally, knowing that we had an early departure, the staff wrapped up a to-go breakfast for us the night before. Clean, sufficient room. Would recommend (and would return).

Nice set up of lava stones made typical Pico houses. On a cliff edge, means somehow dangerous to walk from A to B. Of course the rooms are humid and you can smell and feel it but they are large and confortable. Probably they do not expect their customers watch TV, these are useless as satellite not working properly. Of...

I have never stayed at this hotel but I have visited often over the years when I go to Pico Island. We have had lunch here several times before. This year we decided to go for a drive around the island and stopped here for some delicious liqueur drinks and dessert. I ordered chocolate cake which came with icecream and...

Aldeia da Fonte is a "Charm Hotel" conceived to be a bastion for truly sustained ecological tourism. Its edification was based on the traditional local architecture and involved mainly the use of regional natural materials, such as basalt, our volcanic rock. It is a five-building based hotel, perched over the sea, having the splendorous Pico Mountain for background. The surrounding artistic gardens, with most of the original flora preserved, reflect the care and elegance invested on this serenity haven. The hotel provides 32 charming accommodations, each with personalized decoration that includes restored antiques and recuperation of various objects, depicting history and local culture.
