This is a quirky place with a small pool and games room and lovely views over the sea to Pico. Maria and her husband were beyond helpful. They came to meet us from the ferry and gave us drinks and some really nice local cheese when we arrived. Maria also gave us lots of ideas for walks and places to...

We spent 3 nights in this lovely place. It is up a hill, far from the center. People are very friendly and the meals are excellent. Typical food, nice view on the cliffs, no noise, swimming pool, that the right place to go for holidays.

We stayed in Quinta do Canavial for 3 nights in mid-June: great welcome, extremely nice staff (we'd booked a twin room by mistake and were put in a double room without even having to ask), the rooms are lovely and very clean, incredible view which you can enjoy from a private balcony and a great swimming pool!

We spent a total of 4 nights here, 3 nights in a smaller room and one night in one of the larger rooms in the old buildings. We had a great stay overall, the rooms were nice, the views were fantastic and the folks that run the place are wonderfully warm and nice people. This was a perfect base for...

Our room was large, simple and clean, all we needed. Breakfast served from 8am, selection of breads, jams (including a home-made courgette jam!), cheese, ham, the usuals, nothing fancy but more than enough to start the day. There is a swimming pool and a few small balconies where to sip a beer at the end of the day. There are...

The quinta is a very special accomodation. The furniture in the rooms is pretty old, and if you're looking for a luxury accomodation, the quinta definitely is the wrong place to stay. Nevertheless, it's a lovely place: you'll get a great view, there are several nice picknick areas, and we also had a small private terrace. The host is very...

Rooms have got good comfort with no luxury but are very cleaned. Very nice view from the hotel or from the swimming pool. Maria is welcoming the hosts perfectly and with her husband they can suggest you many walks in the Sao Jorge island. They offer you the possibility to have diner in the hotel and it is highly recommended...

You have to remember that the Azores are green and verdant because they have a lot of rain. The temperature stays much the same day and night so a damp feel is difficult to avoid. After the past wettest of winters the owners of this establishment were trying their best to clean it up and paint outside when we arrived...

This is a rustic establishment and as such does not have every luxury, yet the welcome was warm and the breakfast what you might expect in the Azores. The pool was fine. There were lots of deck chairs and parasols around. The owners gave a lift from town and picked up other members of our party. A good stay, overall

The Quinta do Canavial is a guesthouse with a great view, but a part from this, everything was dismissed and bad cared for. The room was small, the shower was rusty and without windows, the garden was dry and not well mantained. The rooms' furniture are very old and old fashioned with no care for details at all. Every evening...
