The hotel is quite central to Aveiro. A walk away from all interesting spots in the city. Outside it is a very simple looking building, but very well maintained. It is in a quiet neighborhood. You can find parking easily around the hotel. When you go inside, it looks like a larger hotel, cosy and welcoming. The staff is attentive and warm. The room was huge, with a large window overlooking the canal. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The bed was great, with a very confy mattress and soft linen. We had space to hang our clothes and leave our bags. The was a full body mirror in the room. Internet was free and available everywhere. The breakfast was simple but good. You could get every type of coffee from the self service machine, various types of bread, cold meats, cheese, fresh cheese, fruits, very good croissants. We will comeback. …
Older Hotel with updated decor. Rooms a good size with sofa. Good location on the edge of the small town of Aveira but easy walk to the historic town center. Front desk helpful with directions. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but went to a nearby hotel. Parking available.
The hotel provides pretty much all you would expect from something in this price range. I wasn't too impressed by the room lighting. They should use warm white rather than cool white bulbs. I realize this would be of no significance to most people. We booked a 'themed room' but what we got was no different from anything else. For pedestrians the location isn't fantastic but it's not terrible either. The staff, despite what some reviewers claim, were very reasonable.
During the season of the summer festival, there is no easy to find hotel accommodation in Aveiro. I was happy to reserve anything, but hotel Jardim is an almost excellent solution: not too far from the main attractions in the center of the town and near to the shopping area. You can have a good breakfast but there are no lunch or dinner available. However, good restaurants are not too far and there is plenty of free parking place.
The attending and the receptionist were satisfactory on arrival. We asked for a room for 4 and the beds were truly uncomfortable. Rooms have carpeting, which may not be very good for people with allergies. Very few sockets for mobile phones and batteries to charge. They seemed to have come straight out of the 1970s, clearly in need of refurbishment in the rooms. Wi-Fi does not reach all the rooms and only has strong signal at the reception, car parking only with luck if you get a place at the door. Breakfast is weak and with very little variety. A bad experience, won’t repeat (for sure!)
