A spotless accomodation bursting with tradition and hospitality. We stayed in a triple room for two nights. The beds do not exceed in terms of comfort but they will do for a short stay. The breakfast is not very elaborate but the small buffet has everything you need. Must recommend the cake made with biscuits and cream. Free parking in...

This hotel looks like a grand old villa. We had room 24 and it was beautiful and very clean. The bed however was a disaster, it was very squeaky and made a noise every time you moved. The breakfast also was good and the landlady was very friendly. It is a steep uphill climb from the old city center, but...

The hotel is small, but with a fine local atmosphere, in a residential area of Coimbra. The breakfasts are very good, and the staff is helpful. Everything is clean and works. One can walk to the major sites or easily take a taxi to save time and the up-and-down of walking Coimbra's steep streets.

Looking at the outside I wondered whether we'd made a mistake, but once inside it transformed our feelings. The room we had was a double including a single bed for our 2yr-old and was (to borrow a phrase from another reviewer) "full of old world charm". It was very comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. In particular they...

My title are the positives. The whole place is very clean and well kept. The decor was well maintained. The staff were helpful and polite. Our economy room was small and dark, but expensive for what is was. There was a lack of toiletries, which you do not expect from a 2 star place, but are in some of their...

Stayed here over the summer while in Coimbra for a conference. Very helpful staff and a charming place to stay. It is a bit of a walk to the university campus, but I think you're in for a hilly walk no matter where you stay. This is located near many small restaurants, but not in the most touristy part of...

This B&B is just uphill from the university and a fairly long walk from the touristy center of the town, which is near the riverfront. The building is a large old house, converted into guest apartments, and reeks of atmosphere. Our room was lovely--high domed ceiling, a small balcony looking out over the town, bathrobes, writing table, huge comfortable chair;...

I booked this B&B without paying close attention to the scale on the map I was using. It's a good 30 minutes walk into the old town where most of the restaurants are (and 30 minutes back again, all up hill). There are buses available, but we never mastered the timetable and ended up walking. On the plus side, there's...
