Beautiful and amazing hotel in a historical building! Super friendly stagf! The breakfast buffet is excellent and the food, drinks and service offered at their restaurant is excellent too. Over all top! Next time visiting Cascais I definitely will go back to this hotel!
Very nice hotel-inside the fort, great location, central in Cascais. Entire town is walkable from this hotel. Great staff, very nice room, excellent breakfast. The entire waterfront is at your disposal from this hotel. So many good restaurants in walking distance. We would definitely return.
I’ve stayed at this hotel once about a year and a half ago. Returned last week for a little get away and rest. Turns out the day I checked in I ended up in the ER and hospitalized. The staff were so amazing, I have no way to express my gratitude! As I told them, they have a customer for life! I live in Amsterdam, my brothers live near Cascais in Sintra. I can’t wait to return to Pestana, and will visit every time I’m in Portugal. Besides the extraordinary staff, I love everything about the hotel. The location ideal. Cleanliness and decor, pool and dining - all exceptional!
I found this Spa and was amazed by the sympathy and knowledge provided by Kezia and Lara. The massage was great, also all the information regarding the products used. From all the spas I’ve been around the world this one I will be back and recommend. Thank you for the professionalism !
Lovely hotel and geat staff in a beautiful location. Great facilities, beakfast really good and artful themes added to the experience. Lots to see and do nearby. Nice swimming pool and small gym. Lots of restaurants nearby in Cascais and hotel restaurant good too.
Amazing property - really. Great staff, excellent location and you are staying in an old citadel right on the water. Really incredible. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially all the front desk staff and Antonio! Great location, check out all the historical sites right next to the property. Lots of food and drinks on the marina side behind the property too. Fast wifi in case you need to work.
It was amazing stay! We really enjoy it! Beautiful authentic hotel and restaurant! Nice central location. Super friendly staff, they gave us a lot of recommendation what to do. Waking up with the ocean view was a beautiful bonus! Highly recommend! Especially if you have a special day! We celebrated our honeymoon - roses petals and complementary gift from the hotel. Beautiful! We are super grateful
The Bad: - No wifi: wifi didn't work for most of our stay (zero connection) - The bed baseboard (upholstery) stinked of dirty mop 🤮 - Hotel doesn't have parking, so you have to park at nearby parking lot (€ 12 for 24 hours). It is very inconvenient. - Check in was very basic and important information was never shared (i.e. lack of wifi, where breakfast is served, how to contact the reception if needed) - AC in the room was disabled, and since there waa no information anywhere on how to contact the reception I had to go to the lobby to ask for the AC to be turned on. The good: - Breakfast was good! Lots os options, very helpful and friendly staff at the restaurant. It can be very crowded btw. - Perfect location to explore Cascais center - Beautiful grounds
Upon arriving and in spite of having received 2 emails from the hotel confirming my reservation, the staff at the front desk couldn't find the reservation. So they start calling the central and we were there, waiting for them to solve the problem for half an hour. They didn't try to ease the situation, just let us waiting. After that, I asked to talk with the manager and then they seem to start to take the issue more seriously. I demanded them to assign a room to us and solve the problem after, or we would have stay at the front desk indefinitely. So they did it. Upon arriving to the room, it was a complete disappointment: we would expect a 5 star hotel to be irreproachable (we payed 280EUR per night). I add some pictures to illustrate what mean - looked like a 3 star hotel and the furniture maintenance really bad. To avoid at all cost if you don't want to spend your money for nothing.…
We stayed in the Cidadela from 9 - 13 Oct 2022, this is not the first Pousada we have stayed in but it is definitely one of the best. From the moment we arrived, the staff made our stay a warm and happy one. The hotel was excellent in many ways but the staff were its greatest asset. We stayed in a junior suite that overlooked the marina and the room was definitely worth paying a little extra for. It was incredibly spacious and equipped with comfortable furniture, couches in both areas and a superking bed. We were supplied with a fresh large bottle of water daily at no additional cost, contrary to some reports on trip advisor. There are art displays throughout the hotel which add to the feeling of comfort and luxury in the building. Breakfast buffet was of the high standard you would expect in a pousada, with staff always ready to provide tea and coffee refills if desired. The view from the breakfast room is wonderful, with views of the marina and the lighthouse. We were given an added bonus when we left, when reception staff booked our taxi to Lisbon airport for a fixed price of €50, much less than we were charged by the airport taxi on arrival. We can only thank the staff for giving us a wonderful stay.…
