All the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. The facilities were comfortable and the service was really good. Would definitely recommend this location to stay, to enjoy the beauty of a design hotel with a "small-town" friendly service to go with it. Thank you so much for such a great experience.
We had a 2 nights stay at this lovely hotel, very friendly staff, The view as soon as you walk in is truly stunning, Right on the Ocean pool area over looking the Ocean looks very stylish, We had dinner in the Mix Restaurant which again has the most amazing View, They also have a Sushi Restaurant, with the same view, It’s a perfect stroll into town through the Marina which is full of lovely looking Restaurants cafe’s bars, The town is lovely to walk day or night, I did have a massage they don’t have a Spa or a proper massage room, there is a place round the pool you can have it done, They bring in freelance girls todo this, but the massage was very good, I loved Cascais and this hotel and would go back any time.
A nice boutique hotel on the water. Perfect location for walking to old town, the train, and jumping on the extensive running/walking path that goes along the waterfront. Beautiful property, unique, highly designed rooms, impeccable service, comfortable bed, pillows and linens. Shower was great with good water pressure and the bathroom was large. Parking was convenient - plenty of spaces right on the property and you could easily come and go. This was great as we were using this as a base to explore for 5 days.
First of all, I'm not sure where some of the negative reviews are coming from but we had an excellent experience at this hotel. The location can't be beat and it's right on the ocean. It's an easy walk into town as well. The lobby is beautiful and our room was amazing with views of the ocean all around. Loved the pool area as well. The buffet breakfast was good and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The service at the pool was a little slow but other than that I definately would return!
I’ve thought long and hard about what to say about the Farol Hotel. I think that individual experience depends very much on how much you paid for your room and accordingly how your expectations are set. We paid c£215 per night for a spacious room but without the sea view. We found the bar prices quite steep. And for us the Farol absolutely delivered. After a few years cooped up mostly in land I was determined to be as close to the sea as possible, and the Farol can’t get closer. The pool area is simple but shows off the amazing setting, the pool isn’t massive but is unheated seawater which compliments the Atlantic vibe. The terraces, bar and restaurant have stunning views. The staff were uniformly attentive and friendly, reception’s tip to go to Guincho beach was excellent. There is a metalled cycle track along the coast which makes it very easy to get to. We used the hotel bikes which could use some tlc, maybe take for a test ride first as there are other hire options. Our room was very pleasant and immaculately clean. In the interests of balance I think it’s been a while since the hotel was last refurbished - today you’d find more sockets for example. I suspect that some of the common areas may be ready for a refresh, but given the last couple of years in the hospitality industry it’s not surprising that some things are overdue. Overall, at the right price, highly recommended and we would go back.…
This hotel is overpriced, and masquerading as a five star! We had generator like sound each night during our stay. Breakfast was moderate at best. Only plus is location. We have visited Portugal for many years and this was our worst hotel experience. I could go on but.,
Downstairs is modern, spacious and opens out to a spectacular terrace with a large pool facing the ocean. Upstairs, the rooms seem fine but need little tweaking and upgrading but are very comfortable, well ours was, The food was first class, the service warm and helpful. We felt very at home and will return.
I first visited the Farol in 2013 at Christmas time for a fabulous sushi lunch and a memorable New Year's Eve party.... In August 2017, I enjoyed a stay in the wonderful and romantic designer room called " Amor" where my man and I had the best couple's massage side by side! And we came back to Farol on July 29,2022 for another stay in a designer room on the second floor with a killer view of the rocks and the ocean. Comfy, welcoming room, firm bed, spotless and terrific shower. All the 5star amenities at the pool and bars and the restaurant has THE best curated breakfast buffet (truly french croissants) ...all so fresh and not overdone! .... For lunch, Sushi Design is a must.. my third visit and Sushi keeps blowing me away. Inventive and delectable.. cerviche is NEXT-LEVEL! All the Farol's stylish boutique quirks and intimacy make for a unique experience...I keep coming back and the 5 people I've sent there over the years-- including two this summer-- were all bowled over too! Cascais is is bustling enclave and the Farol is just far enough from the action, tucked away on the perfect perch!…
Worst possible experience. The “suite” which cost more than €1000 per night has ripped carpets and the bathroom is full of dust. It even lacks basic amenities like cotton pads. The breakfast selection is on the poorest side and the service remains to be improved, certainly not the luxury 5 star hotel. To make the stay truly unforgettable, apparently the music at the event center is allowed till 4am, the fact about which we haven’t been notified in advance and the music made it impossible to leave the window open.
I am right now at the hotel, I saw a nice room on the website and they gave me a very old room. We are asking for someone to help us and they say there is no one to make a decision. They offer me to leave and they will let me know later if they will make a refund or not.. that was their only solution. Very bad service, very bad rooms.
