Perfectly located right next to Baixo Chiado metro station. The foyer, reception, and kitchen are all decorated really nicely and have a chill and comfortable vibe day and night. Four bed mixed dorm room was clean and spacious. Reception was very helpful and kind. Recommend 100%.

The rooms have their own artsy charm. Very neat and tidy. Receptionists were always ready to help and would go the extra mile to assist you. But what I really liked about this hostel is they have scheduled activities for guests to choose from. This is perfect for someone like me who don't really plan my trips very well. They...

I decided spontaneously to take 'a 3 days off' from family and work after Christmas and escaped to Lisbon. I booked a bed in this hostel. Location is just perfect being right next to the MRT station and in the middle of the city center. The rooms and bathrooms are very very clean and have good space. The have bedsheets...

The Living Lounge Hostel was twelve days of relaxation and home comfort at a really reasonable rate. The staff was super accomodating and friendly. They couldn't have been more informative about Lisbon and Portugal. The daily inclusive breakfast, in which crepes were served, was a really nice and unexpected touch. The themed rooms were clean and spacious with outlets for...

The most amazing hostel I've ever stayed in. My wife and I were in the "sparrow's nest" and I simply can't wait to go back one more time. Fantastic place. Clean and modern facilities perfectly combined with a romantic old-school atmosphere, perfectly located next to a metro station and the center of Lisbon. Awesome staff, I mean literally the most...

I stayed for 4 days in this hostel for a city trip. I had a very nice single room for a very good price! All rooms are different (custom made by local artists, you can preview-sneakpeek on their website) The staff is friendly and helpful. The bar offers some good cocktails. They do offer daily 3 course dinner but I...

Living Lounge Hostel is probably one of the best hostels at which I have stayed. It has a great location near the Baixa-Chiado metro station and is thus easily accessible from the airport and is quite close to many of Lisbon's tourist attractions. The building itself is quite beautiful - the hallways, common areas, and rooms are light and airy....

The hostel is very close to tourist attractions, everything (except Belem haha) is in walking distance. The front dest is not "super friendly" as I expected... Well, I think he was more friendly to the two hot girls in front of me :P But anyway they'll help you if you need. The room is clean, overall it's not the best...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
