Pros: friendly, helpful staff. great design (each room has its own theme, common areas are quirky). Very clean and well-maintained. Nice breakfast (crepes!) Dumbwaiter so you don't have to lug your bags up too many stairs. Very convenient location next to metro and in the middle of an amazing neighborhood. Cons: this is a hostel, so your experience depends very...

A great hostel, you can't go wrong here. Came recommended. Traveled with friends, we booked dorm 101 for ourselves. On the main floor beside reception, it was still quiet. Fab breakfast - crepes, scrambled eggs one morning, bread rolls, jams, nutella, coffee, tea, loads of different juices and 2 lovely ladies cooking for you and cleaning up after you!! In...

If you're looking for something cheap but clean, here's the deal! Centred located, breakfast included. I recommand it without a doubt. I stayed in a dorm and almost didn't notice people were sharing my dorm. Probably the best deal in Lisbon

Our travel group was a group of 6 family / friends. From the first minute we arrived, everything was excellent. Location in Lisbon is superb, the room was clean and really well priced. The staff were excellent and helpful and the facilities are great. I have only good things to say about Living Lounge and all of us agreed that...

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel, it is very clean, location great, very chic and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast was also very good. It was a little hard to meet people, not sure if its because the common areas were more set up to look good, than comfy seats to chill out, or just I was...

Amazing hostel. Perfect location, good price and fantastic and friendly staff. Good facilities and group dinners are a great way to meet new people. Hostel also organises lots of different activities. I highly recommend the Sintra fairytale tour. Diogo was a really good guide and the day was filled with really interesting sights. Would definitely stay here again.

We felt very welcome at this hostel. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. We shared a private room with an air conditioner which was a must as it was quite hot whilst we were in Lisbon. We received a detailed rundown on arrival and had all questions answered easily. This wasn't a party hostel, however, a hostel with a great sense...

Only stayed a night here, but good, stylish and clean. At the time we were there there wasn't a very social vibe but it could easily have just been the wrong day/wrong time. looks more like a hotel than a hostel. Nice rooms, nice lounge, nice bathrooms.

Having travelled extensively in Europe over the past few years staying primarily in hotels this is one of the best hostels I have experienced, providing a level of service and comfort in line with a number of mid budget hotels if not more so. I was recommended this location to stay and grateful that I did. Located in the down...

Maybe one of the best hostel i went to. Very nice rooms, each of them have its own deco (mine had fake grass on the walls). Kind staff, 24/24. Cocktail session every night for only 3€, dinner for ~10€, breakfast included in the room price. The breakfast is huge with someone cooking crepes or toasts. The living room is spacious...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
