Neighbourhood
Belém
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.

My two sons of 12 and 15 years old and I stayed at Altis Belem since 22nd February for 3 nights.. we arrived late evening and unfortunately a couple of things ( third added bed and air conditioning) didn’t work properly in our room, we were quite disappointed ☹️, we had great expectations about the room and we were really tired 😓 , but I didn’t give up , called the Reception first time for bed, second time for air conditioning and Miguel from the Reception always answered promptly and very willing to solve problems.. in the end (nearly 1 am) he proposed us to change room, upgrading us to a really cozy suite , of course giving us much help to move 😓😅.. The morning after then Melanie of the Reception took immediately care of us, being sure the air system works properly and silently in the new room, confirming us that we would stay all 3 nights in the suite room complimentary and making us a discount on the first night price because of all the problems we had!!! Her boss, Teresa, chief of the Reception office, was of course also absolutely determined in offer us all assistance and fringe benefits as possible. Melanie also gave us some valuable advices about sightseeing and precious suggestions about restaurants for dinner!!!! A thanks again to Nuno too!! Ending with a special mention to breakfast buffet and the super always smiling Manager there (sorry I can’t remember the name) and his team, great job guys and girls!!! So..things can’t always get well, but the very important thing is to be willing and able to solve them in the best way possible!!! 👏👏👏 See you next time !!! 😎🥂

We were here to spend a long weekend in Lisbon. Check in was efficient, room was ready when we arrived at midday. Room was a “Kyoto” style, a little dark in decor perhaps (lots of red lacquer), but very comfortable. Two armchairs, sofa, desk, nice large double bed, crisp linens, plenty of wardrobe space, safe, wifi, complimentary water and juice, some nice custard tarts, Nespresso machine. Lovely view of the marina and river, and very quiet - we had been worried by some of the reviews mentioning noise and view of car park - rooms with even numbers on the second floor definitely look over the marina and river and are quiet. Spectacular sunset view. Bathroom excellent - all in all great. Hotel is large enough to be professional, small enough to feel boutique like. Bar food good, breakfast “OK” - not the greatest but perfectly ok. Service generally extremely accommodating. We didn’t try the restaurant this time - but I think we will be back. The spa was good, not absolutely world class, but very, very nice. Location in Belem is very convenient - walking distance to all the sights, culture and gardens down here, and millions of e-bikes and e-scooters for hire very easily. Lovely location (of course not in the centre, but that is a short taxi ride away). Would recommend.

This hotel has the perfect amount of luxury, without being over the top. Perfectly located for people who do not feel the need to do too much Lisbon sightseeing, but like to enjoy the spacious surroundings of Belem and can appreciate good food. The Feitoria restaurant in the hotel is also extremely nice and I would very much recommend visiting the restaurant as well.
