Very clean spacious room overlooking the city. Excellent facilities, excellent reception service and buffet breakfast is top notch, personal favourite scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only opportunity to improve would be ore choice on set half board menu, after 4 nights repeated meals. Would definitely recommend, Tram 24 is welcome on a evening returning directly opposite the hotel following site seeing.
It is a hotel with a classic decor. The best thing about the hotel: the pillow options and the bed mattress. It is very well located near Parque Eduardo VII. But, we felt it was a bit far from the tourist sites in the center of Lisbon. However, walkable. The people at the reception are polyglot, and very friendly. When we were there one of the restaurants was closed and only the buffet option was available. It has a buffet for €27 per person.
We stayed here for a night, and it was a big disappointment. The corridors are old and dark, the rooms are dark and extremely old. The rooms don't have toothbrush setup on the toilets. We arrived late at night and both didn't have battery on our phones, the receptionist said they didn't have any chargers to borrow neither on the rooms. How come a five-star hotel doesn't have any solution either than leaving our mobiles in their office to charge?! Great location, more than that nothing else.
I would say this isn’t a 5 star hotel. a 4 star at best. cleanliness is an issue… after the first night we discovered bed bugs. The hotel staff came up immediately and transferred us to another room. They moved the bed headboard and were horrified at how many of them were crawling out. When we came to check out, we asked if anything could be done with regards to the first night’s bill. They took the cost of the room off, but still charged breakfast. Since coming home (apparently bed bug bites take a week to appear) - it has been a nightmare. Despite antihistamines and cream. Can’t believe how badly we were bitten. These bugs must have been there for weeks if not months. Truly awful! For a five star hotel - utterly appalling! Also, we shouldn’t have needed to ask for a goodwill gesture - they should have offered the first night free and been more concerned. The one receptionist was, but management couldn’t be bothered. Never came to speak to us or anything. If it hadn’t been for the receptionist ringing them about the bill - they couldn’t have cared less.…
Nice facilities, appalling restaurant. The rooms are luxurious, clean and tasteful. The swimming area is small and rather understaffed. The steam room and sauna do not seem to get hot enough and it may because of lack of training in the staff. However, where this becomes really apparent is in the restaurant. The staff do not seem to realise that to make a decent cup of tea you need to make it with BOILING water. Our worst experience was in the evening bar where we we overcharged for two glasses of Douro (11.50 euros each) when the menu offered two choices, one wine at 5.00 euros and the other at 9.50euros. The waiter then tried to justify his charge by producing another menu than the one we orders from. My friends wife ordered hot chocolate which was undrinkable, probably because it was not made from sufficiently hot water. None of the waiters seemed confident enough to know what the menu choices were. In summary I would say this is a decent hotel let down by a really substandard restaurant. Stay here but don't eat or drink here.…
Pleasant stay. The only things that I can point at and that was negative was the fact that the staff did not bring the bottle of water on the last night, the room was cold and we were told that someone will come up to check it and that did not happen and the fact they request €1 per capsule for the complimentary coffee( it sounds cheap) you can just include it the room price, it damage your reputation) but apart from that the room was clean, spacious and not the hotel is well located.
A 5 star hotel and it lives up to standards expected. Large room, large and modern bathroom. Only issue is the glass barrier in the shower tub goes half way so water tends to splash onto the floor. Buffet breakfast was good with reasonable amount of choice. I do wish these hotels would serve their coffee hot. Most times it's luke warm, mainly because the milk added is cold. They provide 4 small coffee cups and machine in the room. Only problem is we got room number 414 which overlooks a large green shed like structure. So ask for a higher floor if possible.
Very nice and charming hotel. Good position. Welcome and pleasent personel. Big and cosy rooms. Perfect and reach breakfast. Beautyull view from big window room. Good italian restaurant with nice terrace. Big lobby.
Not sure how can call luxury. First room I requested not to be near the elevator since I’m a light sleeper and they actually not only gave me the room directly across from the elevator but also despite trying multiple times the TV not working. Request different and they gave me smaller room view if construction crane with two gents looking my way! Sounds like hotel booking commercial?? Can’t wait till morning wake up call! Then sweating as AC not working despite on lowest setting and highest fan speed. Only outlet in bathroom not working. Can’t sit on chairs as you fall deep below the frame so forget about watching news comfortably or reading and enjoying a view!
Stayed for 6 nights. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. (If there was a way to keep eggs a little warmer it would be an added bonus?) Staff very helpful and service first class. Nice touch of bottle of water daily and port and chocolates. Thank you. Overall, very enjoyable stay. Good location short walk to Marque Pompel metro two stops to downtown. Be warned a little hilly back to the hotel. The adjacent mall is good for various dining experiences if you have been sightseeing all day. Thank you to all the staff at the Dom Pedro.
