Stayed here for 4 nights over Easter and loved it. We stayed in suite 4 which seemed more like a mini apartment. Bathroom small but good shower. Room was large and had small balcony overlooking one of Lisbon's famous viewpoints. Breakfast was one of the highlights served by the friendly Lourdes. She made sure everything ran smoothly in the breakfast...

The food was fantastic (both the fish and the meat). Mixed flavours for a great taste. We were all happy. Nice service and very beautiful and elegant place. The only concern was about the noise of the kitchen.

Lisbon and the Independente combined to give us a wonderful experience, each and every day of our stay. We had fallen in love with Lisbon the previous year but this time around, the Suites took us to another level. If you want to stay somewhere that has character, style and individuality this is a must. Forget the modern chain, corporate...

This is a great place to stay, especially if you prefer to avoid boring chain hotels, like a little character but still want clean and safe. The location is terrific, a short (uphill) walk from the metro. You can walk to many good restaurants (like we did) such a Cafe de India and 100 Maneiras Cafe. We were in the...

We had an excellent experience staying here, the staff were lovely and helpful, everything was very clean and secure. The only issue I would say is the three story beds, but despite this the rooms were still lovely and comfortable.

Strange and atypical hotel. My room was nice in a very old fashion. The view was fantastic. I didn't have the opportunity to test the breakfast as it is served starting at 08h00?! One drawback was the notice as they kept the hotel as it was at the origin (everything is old including windows). Staff is ok.

This is the most amazing, quaint place to stay. After much research and price ckg, I selected this place to stay in Old Lisbon. That seemed to be the part of Lisbon to visit. I never dreamed that this would be the perfect place to spend my layover night. My sister and i had flown from Newark, NJ to Venice...

We stayed here for a few nights during last summer while at a nearby festival and it came as a package with tickets. The place is immaculate and really new feeling. The view from right outside the hostel is absolutely amazing, and the location is good as it's only a short walk from the city centre. I have a couple...

Dear Hannah, Thank you so much for you great review! The fact that, after all this time, you still think about your stay at The Independente leaves us truly proud :) Regarding the location, I understand your point. However it's, as you say, a neighbourhood with lots of bars that stay open until quite late, so it's normal to get...

Stayed here for a long weekend with five friends. Lovely staff and an amazing building. The place is huge, decorated with a quirky hipster vibe, comfy beds and secure storage also never had to wait for a shower which is a big plus. Location is ideal near to the main bar/night out area, and as Lisbon is fairly small, you're...
