I stayed at the hotel during Web Summit. It is located just beneath the Castel Sao Jorge in Alfama and has spectacular views to the river. The rooms are very cozy and spacious and the staff was very very friendly and attentive. The only downside for me was breakfast since I was there for business and not tourism, thus didnt...

This boutique hotel is amazing! Bruno and Momo are absolutely fantastic they take very good care of the guests. We had the Santa Caterina room at the very top with a huge balcony with a view of the entire city. We were blown away at the level of service!

What a lovely hotel to stay in while in Lisbon in October. The staff are very very friendly and very helpful, always there with a smile day or night. Our room had the view of the river and it was lovely. The hotel room itself was really funky and spacious, we were very surprised to also have an upstairs bedroom...

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in October. We could not ask for better service and friendly staffs. Bruno was extremely responsive, helpful and professional. Mohamed (Momo) was cheerful and always smiling. I had an eye infection. Bruno found a great Dr., made appointment for me to see the Dr. the same morning, and he brought a sealed...

Review of the restaurant; we did not stay at the hotel. Ideal place if you want to enjoy a great view. We ordered a Tea and Iced Coffee quite overpriced, both cost 3,80 and were nothing special. Quite expensive for Lisboa prices.

Stayed in a river view superior room for 6 days. The room and view was beautiful at all times of the day. The staff were very helpful and always ready to assist, especially when we were let down by our Expedia transfer cab to the airport - the hotel had a replacement arranged and at the door within minutes. Lots...

This small hotel has it all. Great location close to the castle, beautiful views, large, beautifully appointed rooms and friendly, personal service. While the stairs can be challenging with luggage, the staff are more than willing to help. The outdoor terrace is a perfect place for a glass or two of Sangria.

Stylish hotel in an ancient building. Rooms are individually styled, with modern comforts. The river view rooms face west and are best with views over Lisbon especially on the higher floors. We stayed on floor 6 at the top. Some rooms have a small balcony. Small covered terrace for drinks/breakfast. Staff very helpful with maps, directions, reservations etc. Our second...

We only stayed for 1 night as I had double booked with another hotel. They were really understanding and cancelled one of the 2 rooms, as our friends had already checked in to the other hotel. We then decided to move to the other hotel to be with our friends, so they very kindly cancelled the rest of our stay....

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
