the best place to start exploring the capital! everything is near, even the famous 28 tram stop, from which you can get around all city centre and see all highlights room was comfortable, staff were pleasant, room was cheap, so its ideal for backpackers

Wonderful hostel. Stayed overnight with my daughter. Rooms clean, beds comfy and staff super friendly and helpful . 1 word of advice - be prepared for the stairs! There is no lift! "Older" guests like myself will find the stairs hard work after a day exploring the wonders of the beautiful city of Lisbon.

This hostel is located in the living heart of Lisbon so you can't want more. The only problem is that is located in the 4th floor and those floors are really high so it's like climbing. The rooms are really small but ok for few days trip for a couple. Wifi was working well. Staff was nice and helpful.

Perfect location in the middle of Lisboa, having a view over the central street which is crossed by the yellow trams. The accomodation was clean and the staff was friendly. Would definitely come here again!

Incredibly clean. Friendly stuff. I did not see online they do have a children policy but when i got there they have facilitated everything for me. The position of the hotel is fantastic. Close to subway, to city centre, to the sea, to the high street with all the restaurants. I will definitely return there!

The hotel is located kind of in the heart of the city , right next to the Placa do Comercio . So it's really easy to move around , everything you need is close by, shops , restaurants.. etc The hostel itself very clean , has everything you could need, we had a room with a balcony on the 5th...

We arrived here right off the plane basically and could not believe how close to everything we were. We had a great room with a comfortable bed, with a window looking right out on the busy street and trolley lines. It was a little loud, but it was worth it because we could literally step right outside our front door...

Close to metro and tram (line 28). Room was quite small but we only slept there so it wasnt't a problem for us. Thin walls - you can hear neighbors. Shared bathroom and kitchen were clean - cleaned many times a day. There is no elevator so you have to use a stairs (our room was on 5th floor). Very...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
