A very good place to stay in the center of lisboa for less than 45€. The staff was very polite and available and we also enjoyed the great breakfast. Our room was simple but clean and cozy. The bathrooms got wet sometimes and the staff was constantly cleaning them.

Location is absolutely superb. Just off a main square. Perfect base for exploring the landmarks and great for going out for food and drinks in the Bairro Alto. Breakfast is adequate and views from rooms are great. Friendly staff etc. would probably suit groups better than couples. Only down side I would say is having a shared bathroom (although the...

My friend and I stayed here 7 nights and the staff were mostly lovely(except night time guy), breakfast was very passable. Just had a few issues like with the WiFi; we didn't care that it didn't reach our room but every night at about 9pm the password would change and then inexplicably change back the next morning. Got sick of...

Although location is perfect, there are some aspects that should be consider while choosing this establishment. Most of the stuff in hostel is lite bit worn out. Walls are VERY thin. Breakfast is out around 9:30, even though it should be there to at least 11. Cleanliness of bathrooms should be improved. Last thing is that there is no heating...

Very central in the heart of Lisboa, close to all main monuments and with a great connection to airport. The room was good and clean and the breakfast is included in the price. The best thing is the very affordable price for such a great location!

I usually stay in budget hotels booked by my travel agent but this time I decided to try something different for a short city break. I liked a lot of this place, for half of the price that I usually pay at a hotel, I got a premium location, a good breakfast, clean facilities and a very welcoming staff. I...

I stayed there on this loast weekend and I am very satisfied with the place. It is right in the center of the city, close to metro, buses and trams to everywhere. The staff was also great! I had to leave really early today and they prepared breakfast for me at 5:30! Where can you find this kind of service!?...

We spent three nights here and enjoyed being close to all the action in Baxio-Chaido. Excellent location in Rossio square and close to the train and metro station. Best location to get to Sintra. Three floors up so the view is incredible. Staff are friendly and helpful. The shared bathrooms are very clean. A hot breakfast is included. Very good...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
