From Juan meeting you at the front door; to seeing our duplex with its own front door; to a delightful breakfast on the terrace; this has been a perfect and unbelievably relaxing stay. We have stayed in places much more expensive but with only a fraction of the style and comfort. And did I mention the great mattress and the...

My wife and I stayed five nights in a superior room in early April paying €660/$698 for the entire stay, with breakfast included. Wi-fi and snacks are also available throughout the day in the kitchen/courtyard area (fruit and cookies). The positives start with our reception - because of a problem with our train, we arrived at 3 am. Someone was...

We were fortunate and able to get a last-minute reservation at Casa Amora's apartment. The apartment was very comfortable and our host Jose could not be nicer. Breakfast in their little courtyard was delicious.

Very nice guesthouse, very nice people staffing it. Good and very generous breakfast. Staff very good in giving advice, always friendly. Our room (top floor with a balcony) was beautiful, well equipped. Fresh fruit was always present, as was a coffee/tea machine.

All the other reviews are true. Every detail in the decor and hospitality is exceptional. One just wants to stay snugged up in the comfy bed and take photo after photo of the beautiful breakfast. Would have liked to stay much longer and hang around the casa! Obrigada Luis.

Just got back from staying at Casa Amora. We had a studio for 3 nights - comfy bed, sitting area and bathroom. I think some of the others have a kitchenette so if this is important to you may need to specify this when booking. I had no plans to cook! The room was spotlessly clean and well kitted out....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Amora is a typical building of Lisbon’s early twentieth century petite bourgeoisie, renovated in 2012, with a small outdoor patio for rest or meals and 5 bedrooms (all with bathroom). Each room pays homage to one of the great figures of Portuguese art (painting, music, literature, film) of the last century. The process of renewal and adaptation carefully kept all the decorative elements existing in the rooms (plaster) and exterior (tiles, balcony), introducing a color palette that contributes to a peaceful and relaxing environment. Casa Amora is located in one of the nicest and most central districts of Lisbon, Praça das Amoreiras. In this neighborhood, where the 18th century Aqueduct (that survived the great Lisbon earthquake of 1755) reaches and end, Casa Amora is neighbor to Water Museum (Museu da Mae de Agua) and the Vieira da Silva / Arpad Szenes museum. Residents and visitors have easy and direct access to the neighborhoods of antique shops (Rua de Sao Bento and Rua da Escola Politecnica), historic districts (Bairro Alto and Chiado), Avenida da Liberdade and its fashion shops as well as the shopping center Amoreiras, all at walking distance. ... more   less
