My husband and I enjoyed a delightful four night stay in this welcoming small hotel. The hotel is situated on a charming square, quiet and yet very close to mayor sites and the Rossio railway station. We were able to walk everywhere, which we love. be prepared in Lisbon to climb some hills though! The staff were extremely helpful and...

This was a lovely Thanksgiving trip for us. Two clean, bright rooms for our family. The restaurant had great food, and the front desk helped us book private tours that made our trip to Lisbon one of the best vacations ever.

Service excellent. Hotel very modern and clean. It has a good restaurant and served a good breakfast including gluten free bread for me as a coeliac. It has an excellent location - very central for all the sights and shopping area. The only negative was that the bed was far too firm and I ended up with a sore back...

Location, location, location - the old adage most certainly applies to this charming small hotel. It's centrally located to most everything one wants to do in Lisbon, from sightseeing to shopping to dining to culture. In addition, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The compromise are small, but should be mentioned: - Room size - ours were fairly small,...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
