Offering a bridge between modernity and the past the Heritage Avenida Liberdade Hotel is a space that is truly urban, Lisbon and Portuguese, that enriches the city's heritage. The Restoration and recent revamping maintains all elements of the 18th-century facade on a project of the internationally famous architect Miguel Câncio Martins. The location makes it incredibly convenient for the old city, on the corner of the exclusive Avenida da Liberdade and the ancient Largo da Anunciada.

I was used to go to the Britania on which I posted a very positive comment ( well deserved by the way). Given that the Britania is much more expensive than the Heritage Avenida Liberdade, I tried the Heritage and it was a very good decision . The Heritage is also a charming hotel, ideally located, with nice and quiet rooms ( the noise was my main concern due to the location on the Avenida de Liberdade ; the sound insulation is perfect). And prices are much lower than the Britania. Such a difference is not justified in my opinion given the quality of the services provided by the Heritage. So I will go now to the Heritage !

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and for being a Heritage Loyal Guest! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our Hotel Britania Art Deco and that your experience at the Heritage Avenida da Liberdade not only met but even exceeded your expectations. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the hotel's charm, its prime location at the prestigious Avenida da Liberdade, and the sound isolation of the rooms, all prepared with double windows to provide the most comfortable stay for our Guests. Although each of our hotels has its own unique character, they all uphold the Heritage concept, which is not only about sharing the tradition and culture of Portugal with our visitors, but also about offering the warm Portuguese hospitality that defines us. We truly appreciate your recognition of the quality of our service and are grateful for your kind words. Regarding the prices, they vary according to room type and season but most of the time the Heritage Avenida da Liberdade is more expensive than the Hotel Britania Art Deco. We also offer different promotions throughout the year with discounted rates and various added values. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again to our Heritage Hoteles and provide you another wonderful stay! Warmest regards, Diogo Laranjo General Manager

A beautifully refurbished historic building on the tree-fringed 19th century Avenida da Liberdade, this is a glorious boutique hotel in an exclusive part of the city, close to the Elevador da Gloria funicular railway that takes you up to Bairro Alto and also to Restauradores metro (on the blue line). We had a stunningly comfy and quiet room with a castle view and complimentary port! The staff and the facilities here are all fabulous. There’s even a delightful pool area. It’s the perfect base to explore the city.

After considering numerous hotels in Lisbon for the last leg of our month-long trip, we were extremely pleased with our final selection - the Heritage Avenida Liberdade.

Our Heritage room was comfortable and roomy; we were able to enjoy the outstanding views of the city with a glass of the complimentary port offered in the room. The buffet breakfast served in the recently renovated ground floor adjoining the lobby was a real treat with a wide selection of offerings; in the afternoon and evening, complimentary port, muscadet, coffee/tea, and pastries are served there as well. I loved being able to use the indoor pool and gym after a day of exploring. The central location, only a couple of blocks from Restauradores, is a perfect starting point for all the major sites and not as hilly as some of the other neighborhoods we were considering.
The best part of our experience, though, was the friendly and attentive staff always ready with a smile to assist us - the front desk, bellmen, breakfast and bar team, and housekeeping all deserve praise.

We hope to return soon and have already recommended it to two friends who will be traveling to Lisbon later this year.

Choosing this hotel for our city trip to Lisbon was exactly the right choice. The Hotel Heritage Liberdade with its 42 rooms is very centrally located, the subway, Rossio station, the funiculars, tram number 28 and much more are within easy walking distance. The room was very spacious, the bed comfortable, the bathroom very large (we had room 50) and the soundproof windows mean you can't hear the traffic. The hotel was completely renovated a few years ago with a lot of attention to artistic detail. You have to feel comfortable here.
The staff are very, very friendly, the breakfast is varied and of high quality and from 12 noon you can linger in the lounge with coffee and sweet treats. After a strenuous visit to the city you can relax in the small swimming pool. If you leave in the evening, your luggage will be stored safely.

The architecture and style of the hotel is stunning. The rooms are extremely comfortable with high ceilings, and windows and plenty of space. The breakfasts are the perfect start to the day. Throughout the rest of the day and evening coffee and tea and cakes (including the most delicious pastel da natas) are available. Port too! Staff are friendly, professional and exemplars of customer service. The location is central, on the wide avenue and without the noise of traffic or the bustle from busy narrow streets. Easy access to Metro stations and round the corner is one of those wonderful funiculars. I recommend this hotel and I intend to return!

A perfect hotel in every way. Located right on the Avenida Liberdade, this hotel is close to just about anywhere you want to go, close to Restauradores Square to get tour, train and bus connections. Close to Rossio station as well. Upon arrival, greeted by fluent staff who made us feel completely welcome and at home. A shout-out to Erica at the front desk for her assistance and recommendations. Door staff took our luggage and brought us to the room. Room very comfortable and large bathroom space with bidet. Towels changed daily. A small Juliet balcony overlooking the main street. Rooms are well sound proofed. The breakfast buffet is excellent with lots of choices and very good coffee. Bar is available to guests throughout the day for a fee, Lobby is beautiful. Easy access for taxis or transfer vehicles. The small bedside reading light did not function but not a big issue and when we told staff at desk, they said they would fix it right away. Rooms have a bottle of port free to guests as well as a pay as you go fridge. A mezzanine with reading room and library and a small spa and pool on lower level. We were able to walk from hotel up to Pombal Square within minutes and small vendors on the Avenida on weekends.
This is one of the nicest hotels in which I have stayed and would certainly highly recommend it for future visits.

This hotel is definitely in an amazing location!! The rooms are ok, very dark, bathrooms not the best, shower curtains and old tubs, musty smell in the bathrooms as well.

Breakfast was good and a nice touch having a glass of port at anytime.

Staff when we arrived was quite rude, we had a 6 hour flight delay, asked if he could call the restaurant for us to tell them we were on our way, as we had made the reservation weeks before, the restaurant is very popular and only would hold the table for 15 minutes, we wanted to get our bags to the room and freshen up and he flat out said "NO", he told us to run the restaurant was up the street and what good would it do if he called? We ended up running up the street like we were told to make our reservation.

Afterwards we tried to find a place for a nightcap after wondering around we couldn't find anything, went back to the hotel asked the same front desk staff for some advice on where to go as it was Saturday night, he just shrugged and said I don't know, try downtown, we walked for a while and since arriving at night we didn't know where downtown was and he was no help giving us directions. He was very condescending and not the welcome we were hoping for in Lisbon.

Unfortunately, we had to stay a second time at this hotel on our way back through Lisbon, we would have definitely cancelled after the treatment we received the first time through but unfortunately we had already prepaid and it was non-refundable and I do have to say that the front desk staff was way better and we were able to get an early check-in as well, which was great. We stayed in a different room but again the same problem as the first one, room was dark, shower curtain, very old tub and again the same musty smell.

Overall location was great & breakfast was good.

Wonderful hotel. Perfect location. Walk to everything. Breakfast was excellent - delicious scrambled eggs and bacon and nice selection of fresh fruit and breads/pastries and so much more. Loved the coffee with the pitcher of hot milk. After noon they put out pastries and coffee and port wine, which we enjoyed every afternoon and evening. The room was very clean and plenty of space to unpack. Front desk staff was so helpful and professional. My sister in-law forgot her purse in a local restaurant on our third night and the hotel staff retrieved the bag and held it until our driver could pick it up and bring it to us at our last stop in Cascais (a must-see place!). They also helped immensely prior to our stay with restaurant recommendations (via email correspondence) and made the reservations for us. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay in beautiful Lisbon!

Very enjoyable place to stay and staff were great, always attentive and helpful. It was always nice to go down to breakfast and be greeted with a very warm, Bom dia! The breakfast was great and some of those bread choices that I had never had before were very delicious. The eggs needed a little seasoning but its probably best to let guests season their own to taste preference. Very much appreciate the breakfast and its a great relaxing environment. I actually enjoyed the hotel perhaps more so than I enjoyed the city or it could’ve been the rainy weather that was a downer but I’m very grateful for the Heritage Avenida Liberdade Hotel providing my wife and I such a great place to stay.

Special shoutout to the young lady who greeted us upon our early morning arrival at the hotel. I was expecting to have to leave our luggage and wait a few hours for the room but instead she got us a room on the ‘E’ floor, room number 1. Perhaps some might not want this room considering it was so close to the street on the corner but we enjoyed it. Even when there was a huge street party at night, we enjoyed listening to the live music from our window. The neighborhood is also very nice and walking distance to various attractions and locations isn’t too bad. For me it was easy. For my wife, she isn’t a fan of walking unless the pay off is a store like Louis Vuitton or Chanel, which you’ll find an LV store a few blocks away. 🙄 But for me, my payoff was finding the restaurant known for their Bifana sandwiches. Wow! Delicious and flavorful! I forgot the name of the restaurant but its close by near the train station. There’s also the place nearby with the infamous Pasteis da natas. Those are truly a delicious dessert. The hotel has miniature versions of what you’ll buy at Fabrica da Nata.

On one of the day’s that we spent in Lisbon, we took a day trip to Fatima, Batalha, Nazare and Obidos. That was a 9 hour day and my wife and I were completely worn out especially with the constant rainfall and getting drenched in Fatima. Coming home to the warmth and relaxed vibe of Heritage Avenida Liberdade was such a welcome relief that based on this alone I can definitely recommend this hotel 100%. Abrigadu!

Dear Dream331, Thank you very much for your kind words. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and in particular our attentive and helpful staff and our privileged location in the exclusive Avenida Liberdade (and yes, Louis Vuitton and Chanel are also located in this Boulevard ;) The name of the restaurant you refer to is Café Beira Gare, just in front Rossio Station (trains to Sintra). This small café is indeed very popular for its Bifana sandwiches. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again soon in our picturesque city. Bom Ano Novo! Diogo Laranjo General Manager

I booked this hotel for my wife's birthday for a 4 day break and our 1st time to Lisbon .We arrived around midday and greeted by the friendly staff atvreception ,and taken to our room .Our room was fairly spacious with a good size bathroom. Comfy warm and a nice touch of a bootle of port to drink at your leisure. Breakfast is served till midday much welcomed on our part as we like to relax in morning not too early .The reception lounge area is quirky , but beautiful and a nice place too chill

The hotel is central not too far from most of the sites you might want to visit .We found the daily ticket at the metro station across from hotel which costs € 7,and gets you in metro, bus , tram , lifts funicular, a bargain if your out to see Lisbon .
We visited a few and can recommend Time Out Market for food wine ,would go back . There's simply loads to do at your own pace.
A final say on the Hotel from the young man at concierge very helpful to the concierge , on guidance when looking for tips .On a nice touch from the maid in our room who noticed my wife's birthday card and arranged a bottle of champagne for us on returning in the early evening , it made our stay a great trip and memory .
We will return

Mark

The pool in the basement is small, more a plunge pool. It is free and there I think 2-4 loungers and showers. Not sure about towels etc. I would not recommend it as a swimming or lounging pool, more a quick refresh. Not a place to lounge in my opinion. Very clean etc but small and enclosed. Hope that helps. The hotel I would recommend!

Like most hotels, the size of the room and what the room looks over dictates the rate of each room. We have always booked one of the larger rooms that looks out over the Avenida da Liberdade, which is a beautiful street.
