This hotel is a great value in a very accessible area in Lisbon. It isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. But what really makes it lovely is the staff. They seem to care about the hotel and your comfort. For the price, it is a great deal. It is definitely a loved property- not brand new, but not run...

We stayed just for few nights but the place is very nice. Don't worry about the shared bathroom, it was always clean. The bed was comfortable and the location is just great. Few minutes from the center and easy to access from the Airport.

Flor da Baixa was a perfect fit for two nights in Lisbon pre-cruise. Traveling as a solo, I wanted a location close to the old town, train station and port. Flor da Baixa fit the bill. Super clean. Wonderful cafes and shops at your doorstep. Love this place!

A small, basic but comfortable room in a very good location in central Lisbon. Very good value for money. Plenty of restaurants nearby but try finding some smaller ones on the backstreets. I would highly recommend if in Lisbon for short trip.

For convenience of location you can't beat this place. The room was pretty small, but clean and nice, with a shower and basin, and had a small balcony onto the street with a lovely Lisbonesque view up and down. The manager, Carlos, was very friendly and helpful and nice to deal with. It appears that he also manages a more...

Pros: Excellent free wifi & very helpful staff. Free coffee at reception Cons: Proper Air Con & a modern TV Location: Close to Restauradores Metro station and the tourist bus route. The zoo is worth a visit. Location was perfect as we were going to a concert at the Coliseau. Handy for the Metro. Plenty of eating places nearby. ....

Our primary and only struggle with this hotel was the keycard, which constantly failed. We eventually got replacements, but those still worked inconsistently. Otherwise, be prepared for a very snug room as they give you exactly what you need for a few nights. However, the bathroom was HUGE, with a wonderful little balcony and opening windows that let you see...

Being recently married as young couple enjoying our honeymoon tour, we found this hostel to satisfy our expectations traveling on a budget. Our priorities were location and cleanliness both of which were very good. We arrived early morning and were able to drop off our bags securely to explore the city a bit as room wasn't quite ready. Room is...

We stayed there just for one night. Even the pension has a very good location, close to the metro stations, restaurants and bars, the accommodation is very poor and old. In the bathroom you don't even have enough space to use the toilet because it is too close to the tube. When we got there the reception was closed so...

We arrived late in the afternoon due to our flight. Check in is avaiable from 14pm i think and Lisabon is -1 CET time zone so we arrived around 19 pm. From airport you can take aerobus #1 which has most of city stops through the centre. You can get ticket at bus station and it is specialized bus so...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
