This hotel is on the edge of a great walled town, and part of the hotel is inside the walls, and part is outside the walls. We stayed in the "new" part, (1950's), in a quaint room, up a tight flight of stairs, just comfortable enough. VERY helpful staff, and realized that we should have stayed in the OLD part...

Go in winter and sit by the fire and drink Port wine. Venture into Obidos and eat at any one of the great restaurants in the village and then rush back to your hotel and drink some more Port. Enjoy the breakfasts and have dinner in the Hotel at least once.

If you're looking for the fun of staying in a castle, this is your place! It's authentic, dark, moody, loaded with Medieval intrigue and history--which is what makes this castle experience so compelling. Located on the top of a hill, there are spectacular views of the town of Obidos and the surrounding farmland from every side of the castle. But...

This castle hotel was one of the best experiences I have ever had! From the moment my sisters and I arrived, we were treated like queens. The staff, Francisco and Fabio carried our HEAVY luggage up and down the many castle stairs to our rooms. Francisco made a reservation at the hotel restaurant for us, helped us make phone calls...

Such a special place. My sisters and I loved spending time in this castle hotel and the absolutely charming village that surrounds it. The staff went above and beyond in every way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Every room and every view was delightful. We felt absolutely transported. Breakfast was great, too. I can't recommend this hotel highly...

An excellent service in a fantastic place. Very comfortable and charming room and a very good restaurant inside the tower. The room are named as Portugal's kings. We stayed in Sancho I, which has a balcony and a very good view of the city. If you came by car, be aware on the way to the entrance, because the street...

We booked one of the tower rooms, it gave additional access to castle towers to climb and get an amazing view of Obidos. I was worried the room would be claustrophobic so I requested the D. Fernando room which has white walls. It was actually very cozy but comfortable and it was a very nice room to relax in and...

Well - they promise to give the time of my life. Indeed... We had a double room in the cottage, not in the castle. There is not a puasada spirit at all. Instead - a very very small room, a small bad with a very hard mattress . small window in which you can only see the next room. Also the...

We like elegance. We are "foodies". We very much enjoyed our lunch at this small, unique, very special restaurant at the top of the hill in this walled town. My husband enjoyed the cod with potatoes, a typical Portuguese meal. I loved the vegetarian Crunchy Quinoa with Pumpkin, wrapped in a crepe over sautéed spinach that was topped with a...

My mother and I stayed in the castle in Sep 2016. We made our bookings through Orbitz. Communications with the castle prior to our visit were prompt. Driving up to the castle is tricky to narrow roads and bylines. But we got a parking spot right outside the castle. On our way out, the staff helped me navigate my car...
