Stayed 3 nights. Enjoyed Setubal and this small hotel. Our room was big...but storage space was very limited. There was a fan across the street from our room that was noisy...as was the music from the cafe downstairs. Help yourself honesty bar. Breakfast in the cafe was OK...but repetative. Weird waiting to be served alongside people who walk in off the street. Allowing guests to decide what they want to eat rather than the set menue would improve things. Overall not a bad place...perhaps for no more than 2 nights.
We stayed for a two night visit over Easter Sunday/Monday, taking two rooms. The rooms are compact, but very well designed and we slept well on both nights, despite facing the main road; the double glazing is very effective! Two small but important issues: 1. The shower pressure was almost non existent 2. There was no wifi signal in our room. Both of these issues, I very much doubt, are new and really need to be addressed. That aside, the inclusive breakfast at the cafe next door was extremely good on both days with a great package of juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, fruit and a filled roll or croissant. We asked RM to book restaurants for us on both nights after my failed attempts to find an open restaurant for dinner on for either night. Marta (one of the RM managers) booked Sem Haras and Novo 10 and I will review separately each restaurant. However, suffice to say that both restaurants turned out to be excellent selections. Marta and Ines (the other manager) are a very hospitable team, and were really helpful throughout our stay. The location is within a short walk of the old town and also the port where ferries are easily accessed. Last but not least, the leaving gift of crystallized orange peel was absolutely delicious.…
Beautiful room but definitely no suite and rather a small double room. Unfortunately, for two people not enough space, neither for two suitcase nor in the "closet". We only stayed one night and it was fine but staying longer would have been uncomfortable and the rooms should most certainly remove the suite in the name and change it to small double room in a Boutique Hotel. The Boutique flair is definitely lovely and the hotels interior in general. Staff was also very friendly and you even receive a little goodbye present. Breakfast is served at a separate Cafe downstairs and you get a cold drink, a warm drink, chocie of eggs, a sweet or savoury selection and fruits or yogurt. A great surprise in Setúbal , o gem to discover, we loved all around. We are speaking about a guests house with a high quality services and a very smart personal approach to the guest!! Deco and comfort beyond expectations!! We will be back for sure!!!!
Stayed one night at the RM Guest House Experience on our way to Troia and delighted by our choice. First class boutique guest house with only a handful of rooms but high quality furnishings and super service. Breakfast in the morning was served in the Marisqueira restaurant downstairs with an ample choice of cereals, juice, breads and pastries. Location was perfect as close to the ferry port and short walking distance to a few squares with choice of restaurants and local shops. Parking on street nearby with combination of paid and free but need to be careful as signage not always clear at least to tourists.
I stayed two nights, late check-in. Everything went smoothly, like a charm. The house is centrally located, with amenities, restaurants, and an ocean within walking distance. With checkin finalizing, I got a small map with a list of 2do recommendations in the area. Excellent, thank you, hospitality as it should be. Keep it up! 🍀👍🙂
As we were going to the theatre, my husband looked for a hotel near it. He found a boutique hotel but was unsure as the one we stayed at in Lisbon (AlmaLusa Baixa/Chiado,) was a disaster. But we were wonderfully surprised at the quality of the place, the layout and the staff were wonderful! The breakfast was very good and the staff asked what we wanted. Recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely clean room, good breakfast and very near the harbour. They had Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom! My favourite.
Really nice and quaint place to stay in Setebul. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. There’s a little lounge to hangout with couches and plenty of reading material available. There’s also a honest bar available. Hotel is within walking distance to highlights in town. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to this beautiful place.
close to the old town and Ferries, very nice designed rooms, with a lovely living room, delicious breakfast dinner and best service all the day, The helpful Ana at the recepe tion desk and her advise give us a wonderful stay
Setubal is quite an interesting stopover and has a really nice town square with nice restos and this very welcoming guesthouse. Rooms are very modern and clean if rather compact. The owner is a very hospitable lady who welcomed us warmly with dining reco's, aperitifs for check-in, and a bottle of wine to enjoy pre-dinner in the pleasant and well-appointed common room. Guesthouse was a little challenging to find being on the second floor on a sidestreet with no door on the street it says it's on. And need to ring a doorbell that wasn't so obvious to us. But we eventually found our way and glad we persisted. Price was also most reasonable. Lots of awards. Good value for a short stay.
