Beautiful farm in the vineyards to be able to disconnect from everyday life. With very good decoration and well-kept gardens and spectacular views.

The rooms, although well decorated and with many interesting utensils to stay for a few days, fail a little for their price in terms of small details. For example, the lack of a bathtub, a shower with little water pressure and without too many frills, the outside terrace of our room having some type of view as described and not a hedge behind the pool.
We also lacked the possibility of choosing pillows, which is very typical in this type of hotel.
One detail to keep in mind is that the room was filled with ants even though there was a lot of good cleaning. They would have to find some system to ensure that this did not happen.

As for the service, although it is good, it does not reach the 5-star service that you pay for. Always speaking from our experience of course.
We found the breakfast good but not crazy and the products, although of quality, were of little variety. We were also surprised by the lack of attention at the start table for coffee service, for example.

In short, a hotel where you are going to relax a lot, but it lacks some details that we have seen in other hotels of this type to achieve excellence.
Still, it is highly advisable to stay there, although we think that it is missing some details to achieve our 5 stars.

We really went to rest and it is without a doubt a fantastic space to relax. We ended up not leaving the property, where we took many good walks.
Good taste, category, comfort. The room was great, with everything needed and a beautiful view. The breakfast was very good.
Excellent service at the reception - Madalena and Daniel - and in the bar and restaurant. This one under the command of the great chef João Sousa, a citizen of the world, has a good menu and good preparation.
We ended up having dinner at the restaurant, which was very well served. The wine list could be bigger, including a wine from each region of Portugal and as it is close to Azeitão it should have all of the Periquita wines.
We will come back! Keep it up! Thanks.

Nestled among the vines and cork trees, the Hotel Casa Palmela offers peace, tranquillity and a well-stocked wine cellar. It's a place rich in history. Just 40 minutes from the heart of Lisbon and with easy access to a coastline encrusted with incredible beaches, the hotel is a perfect base to explore the wonders of Portugal.

Alternatively, you may opt just to sit by one of the two pristine pools or follow one of the many paths that trace the contours of the estate. If that feels too energetic, you could call on Hannah in the spa, join Pedro on a horseback ride through the cork forest, or seek our Mafalda for one of her signature cocktails.

This is a gem of a place, that feels more like a comfortable stay at a family estate among friends than just being in a hotel. It's the perfect for an escape alone, for a romantic getaway, or even a family break.

Get going.

First and foremost, lovely and professional people work in this hotel. Joao from the bar bv…👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽! The location is exceptional and the building is beautiful…
But unfortunately this hotel is not worth the price. It's expensive and the restaurant etc is really over the top in prices. The place setting is a piece of stale bread for 7.5 euros. The rooms are furnished with cheap items and look more like something straight out of an old Ikea catalogue.
The towels for the pool are old nylon rags and the beds by the pool are super dirty, old and worn. Nor is anything done to create shade. You'll be devastated by the heat on the terrace of the restaurant.
The worst of all is the breakfast. In a country with the best sandwiches, they only have some old, dirty bread for breakfast. Indescribable. Nothing is done about it either. I even suggested driving to the bakery. The bread is really dirty but they stand there and look at it.
Nice location, attentive staff, but otherwise far too expensive and a few things of really terrible quality. I really feel cheated.

The staff was very unprofessional, mainly the reception staff, even being rude. No one helped us with the luggage 😱 The pool does not have space for all the guests and when we went to claim our right to also be in the pool they told us that they could not do anything because it was already occupied by other clients. 😱 The bathroom in the junior suite is minimal, it barely fits one person, very old. Of the four nights that we were occupying two rooms, not a single day did they change the sheets, the old towels. 😱 As for the restaurant, I ordered a salad and the cook said it was only at noon, that he couldn't make it at night 😱 It's not a 5 star at all

Location is wonderful, and so is the whole building and surroundings.
But comparing price/quality there is really something missing.
We spent 3 nights in weekend High season, but there was no management at all.We had to wait more than 3 hours before we could have our room, although we send a mail to ask for an earlier check in than 16.00.
Not possible, we have to waited till 16.15 . We have been in many 5 stars places all over the world, but never had this situation.
Thanks to Mr Joao de Sousa we we're calm down. He treated and helped us later with everything, and that made our stay good.
Our superior terras room was located perfect, clean and cool, but the decoration is for that price some dated.
The bathroom very small and not really comfortable.
In the adults pool only three umbrellas, to protect all the guests from the sun.
sunbeds we're not very clean, and the pool towels, is really not done,
in a 5 star Hotel member of the Leading hotels of the world.
The quality of the breakfast was 3 stars, only 2 sorts of unripe fruit,
and no fresh bread at all.
We have had diner several times, at the fantastic Terras outside, but please put mores covering to protect people for the extreme sunburning.
quality of the food was good, specially my fish was perfect prepared,
and again I say, the very kind service of Mr Joao, David, and several other members of the restaurant was really touching. They did their job more than fantastic.
So overall, the place has so many strong assets, location, building, history, surroundings, but some for us important details we're missing,
and the feeling that there was no management to talk with, but the location is Portugal on it's best!

Visited recently for a friend’s wedding and had such a wonderful time, the property is beautiful and staff were lovely and friendly. We stayed in a junior suite and could not fault the room, it was decorated elegantly and had lovely amenities. We had lunch and dinner both a la Carte during our stay and really enjoyed the food, breakfast was also tasty and there was plenty to choose from. We also did the horse riding which was the perfect way to end our weekend riding through the vineyards. The horses were gentle (we are complete beginners) and our guide was knowledgable and great to chat to. If I had to think of a downside the only thing would be that the bar is not manned all the times that it says it is open, however, staff were more than happy to grab a drink for us if we wanted one. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we’re excited to come back!

In full disclosure, we were not guests at the hotel. We are local residents of Setubal who have frequented the hotel restaurant and have wandered through the lovely grounds of the estate.
There was a time when staying at a great hotel was the endgame. Service, setting and ambience were the important elements of the event. This hotel scores high on all of these. We would love to stay here for that experience but it is not necessary in our case. We pass this hotel frequently and one day decided to visit which has led to several more visits.
The grounds – which are extensive – include a large vineyard and a natural landscape with multiple trails. The hotel philosophy is one that is very inclusive as they want all guests to experience the magnificence of their property. You can come for coffee, take an hour hike and have breakfast or just leave. As a non-guest of the hotel, you never feel pressured to make more of your visit.
We have come for both breakfast and dinner. Our dinner there was absolutely divine and service was well beyond the standard. Unfortunately, breakfast was a bit of a disappointment and definitely could have been better, although we had a great morning hiking to a view of the Arrabida.
We give high marks to the staff and chef (for dinner) and highly recommend at visit.

I received the warmest of hospitable Portuguese welcomes from Joao and his team. Joao has a lot of experience of working with people from all backgrounds and nationalities and he was able to relate to me in so many ways. I was greeted with a tasty glass of Portuguese red wine and then at dinner I was given great recommendations in their excellent restaurant Zimbral. Ines my waitress recommended a great meal and is clearly very passionate about taking care of the tastebuds of the travellers who visit Portugal and Setubal in particular. Thanks Joao, Ines and the chef for a wonderful stay and a spectacular meal.

I would like to show our total dissatisfaction with the fact that there is no celebration / celebration of the year.
We had dinner and they just sent us to our rooms... and they said they'd take a bottle of sparkling.
It is unfortunate not to say very bad in a new year program that paid a pack of passing the year with dinner and even with brunch there was no kind of music, neither of environment nor of radio ... nothing. There's nothing alluding to the party and the end of the year.
