Still with single use plastic. Reception staff very useful and friendly. Room window very dirty, in need of a very hard cleaning. But the room was clean and very quiet and nice and sunny. Overall the hotel was better than i expected.
I, female, staid 4 nights at the IBIS in February 2020. Housekeeping stole some of my cosmetics and I wondered why the housekeeping crew kept smirking at me. At home then I realised the missing items. Plus the Sunday receptionist, male, argued with me for 20 minutes in front of other guests that I need to pay for 5 nights, not 4. He tried to confuse me by counting the check-out day as a day to pay. Not until I asked for the manager he finally relented.
Ibis hotels are excellent value for money and we always use them in Portugal when travelling. Setubal Ibis is a taxi ride from the town. Spotlessly clean, great facilities, good choice of buffet breakfast and lovely staff. Would highly recommend this hotel
The room was dirty, specially the bathroom with hair and it was a terrible stink of kitchen all over the room. Something was wrong with the ventilation and we had to change the room for the terrible odor.
We originally booked just one night and ended up staying for five! We enjoyed the Setúbal/Arrábida area but also it was Ibis Setúbal that made us want to stay. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and also welcoming of our little dog who was even allowed to sit with us in the gorgeous garden at breakfast and in the bar area for a nightcap (he is very well-behaved and quiet though). Room was as you would hope for from Ibis - clean, functional, very comfortable bed, and a lovely, big shower in the recently refurbished bathroom. Breakfast had a great selection on offer, and the supper we ate at the hotel was very tasty and served with a smile. We were impressed with the space afforded to the open plan but distinct areas for reception, bar, lounge, restaurant and breakfast room, plus the terrace with seating in the garden. If the weather were a little warmer, I would have loved to have used the outdoor pool, an unexpected surprise feature at this delightful hotel. Looked to be perfect for business travellers too, having ample free parking and conveniently located, but for us it provided a wonderful holiday and a perfect base from which to discover this fabulous and varied area of Portugal. Well done Ibis Setúbal, see you again soon, I’m sure. Até proxima.…
The stay in the hotel was enjoyable. If you are motorized it gives you quite a good point for your exploration of Alentejo and Lisbon. The hotel is located in a low building leaving you an impression of intimacy. There is a courtyard with a nice and clean swimming pool. Orange trees are a source of fruits for breakfast. Breakfast buffet offers you quite a large selection of bread, some cheese, ham, fruits, pancakes, eggs. I can only complain that there were not any vegetables if you didn't count not nicely presented tomatoes (in a plastic bowl). During my prolonged stay I found breakfast a little bit boring as nothing really changed in the buffet and the same selection of food was served every day to give you a missing sense of variety and something to long for to come back
Friendly Staff Food available 24/7 - had an evening meal which was good and breakfast had a good selection. well kept communal areas, looks to be recently re-furbished. very clean everything you need or want for a short stay.
This hotel is what you would expect from an Ibis, clean, good service, anything you need is available. There is breakfast from 06.30 to 12.00, way longer than I expected. The interior has been updated recently I think and there is a pool and a 24h restaurant. The only downside is the quality of the restaurant, given that the hotel is in an industrial area, the restaurant is 24h a day open but serves pre-made meals, not the kind of stuff you would find in an à la carte restaurant.
Clean rooms. Sufficient amenities. My mother and I travelled from the U.S to attend my brothers funeral. The staff could not be more welcoming and accommodating. Star of the show was a lovely lady called Magdalena..she was very empathetic to my distressed mother and made the stay as pleasant as it could be.
This hotel is on a major road but it was not an issue as we did not hear the traffic and the hotel is set back quite a bit from the road. There is nothing immediately outside the hotel except a cafe across the road. However this cafe is family run and serves typical Portuguese style food at very reasonable prices. The menus are in Portuguese but the soon to be new owner speaks very good English and is in the process of introducing English menus. We were only here for one night and had all our meals at this cafe as Hotel Ibis only provides prepackaged meals. About 15 mins walk down the road is an Intermarche supermarket and add another 10 minutes further is the Allegro Shopping complex. Along the way there are quite a few restaurants. The hotels looks like it has been recently renovated and displays trendy decor. There is no lift in this hotel but if you have a lot of luggage perhaps request one of the many rooms on the ground floor. The room had a single wardrobe and adequate space for luggage storage. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows and the bathroom was compact but acceptable with nicely done shower unit. Unlike some of the previous reviews, we were greeted by a delightful lady in reception who was very helpful and welcoming. We did not have issues with any of the staff who were pleasant and courteous.Breakfast buffet is available for $6.90 which appeared attractive but we did not have any. The Wifi and aircon were excellent. A lot of English TV channels which was great. Lots of free parking available within the hotel grounds. There s a great swimming pool which will be great for the warmer months. Overall: A good value. No surprises. Would definitely stay here again.…
