Easy check in by friendly staff. Room clean and spacious. Small balcony off the room. Bar staff very friendly. Restaurant opened at 7.30,great choice of menu. A daily menu of starter, main dessert and coffee for 20 euros but also another menu to choose from. The waitress was very knowledgeable re drink and the food and was attentive to us during the evening. Breakfast hot and cold with great choices. The same waitress who was on on the evening of 1/09 was also on for breakfast on the 02/09 and remembered us.. Underground parking was very tight and couldn't use if you had a big car. Parking and breakfast was free. Thoroughly recommend.

Hotel Cristal SetĆŗbal offers very good rooms that are modern and comfortably furnished ā€“ perfect for a relaxing stay. The rich breakfast is another highlight that offers a variety of options for every taste. Unfortunately, the parking garage is a significant challenge; it is tight and poorly organized, making parking a frustrating experience. Overall, the hotel is a solid choice, but motorists should be prepared for potential difficulties in the parking garage.

It is a good option, with good breakfast, superb food and waiter service that surprises by the elegance and details. I insist, both are remarkable, as it is not a luxury establishment. In hotel food, at least from my experience, you canā€™t expect delicacies; here you are. Dining service, which is not usually correct in most cases, is not the case here; here it surprises by its excellence. We had dinner for three days.

Drawback... it's out of the center. If you are walking, you can reach, up a small hill, to the lookout point of SĆ£o SebastiĆ£o and, passing under the arch, the street that takes us to the center -rua de Arronches Junqueiro- is downhill. On the way back, from Bocage Square, it is just over five euros a taxi. It is not, the hotel, a neighborhood that I found unsafe but, at night, caution and avoiding the climb... they more than justify the five euros.

In front of the hotel, the ConceiĆ§Ć£o market has hospitality establishments that coexist with the usual food shopping activity and that, at night, even have live music.

They should be aware of changes in rates on the hotel's own website. I had already calculated my stay (256 euros), but I did not make it until the next day, when I paid 405. They made it clear at reception that rates change daily.

We came for two nights as we had to attend a wedding in Setubal and we were actually happy to leave this place as it provided an awful experience.

The beginning of our stay was not impressive, but it was decent. The location of the hotel is definitely not ok and it is 25-30 mins walk from the heart of Setubal. The rooms are more appropriate for a business hotel than for a vacation hotel: pretty basic, no own character.... and some of the rooms looking towards the inner side of the hotel, something that turned out to be a serious issue.

Room 216 was a nightmare. As someone who cannot sleep with air-conditioning on, I had to open the window of the room. I was fine with the fact that the view was miserable, but what drove us crazy was the noise coming from hotel aggregates/kitchen or similar which started in the morning at 07:30. It was impossible to continue sleeping. I went downstairs to ask for a potential change of my room, but the receptionist lady just said she couldnā€™t do anything as everything was fully booked. She did not even show understanding to the fact that there was a
significant issue affecting our stay.

Speaking of staff, when I called to ask for an iron & ironing board , I was told that there we none and I had to give it to the laundry. Having no choice, I agreed and then the receptionist told me to go to the reception to bring down my two shirts instead of sending someone. Completely unacceptable for a service for which I had also to pay.

I am not going to mention that calling a taxi took them 10 minutes just to make the call when we were leaving.

In conclusion, I have rarely had such a poor experience at a hotel. Total lack of guest experience focus and customer care. I left the hotel in need of a good sleep (because of this room 216! ), rather than leaving it relaxed and energised by a good holiday/wedding weekend in Setubal.

The Expedia customer support team spent two weeks trying to get in contact with the hotel and I also contacted them myself twice on top of that only to be ignored and eventually had my request to modify my request to have my booking dates pushed out rejected on the day of my stay.

They also refused to reimburse me for the stay I did not use claiming that they were not advised of the request to modify the booking dates in advance...They blatantly ignored me (there is read receipt on the Expedia platform so I saw that they were reading my messages) as well as the multiple calls and emails from Expedia customer support only to take advantage of the situation to charge me for a nights stay that was unused.

This hotel has staff with no morals; that type of treatment towards others is distasteful and they should be ashamed of carrying out these types of practices.

Arrived from staying at another 4 star rated hotel in Lisbon which was flawless so this place had a lot to live up to and in fairness it was pretty good with a few exceptions. It's located a long way and a slightly uncomfortable walk through some pretty run down streets to reach the start of the town. Reception staff didn't really make you feel that welcome and frosty when I went to ask for some coat hangers as there were only 2 in our 6 foot wide wardrobe. I was told they didn't have any which is not acceptable in any hotel yet alone a 4 star. Man on the desk told me to lay my clothes out on surfaces throughout the room, with a refusal by me and a lot of resentement by him they found me 4 more. TV was tiny and no function to stream to or input your own Nextflix which is pretty common place nowadays. No dedicated shower, standing in the bath. Toilet roll holder not tighenend so rolls just fell off, takes about 5 seconds to fix and cleaner must have seen issue everyday but didn't fix or report. In their attempts to stop you leaving the ac on everything goes off when you leave except the fridge so unable to leave powerbanks, ipad, phones charging even when at breakfast which is really annoying. A fair bit of black mould in the bathroom on seals which can just be removed with the right cleaning product but hadn't been. Noisy extractor but great AC. It's a good 3 star hotel, remotely located but i needed to be there at short notice and appreciate it was available. Only really odd thing was when we went to reception to hand in our keycard no interest in asking us if we enjoyed it or thanks for choosing our hotel just a stern 'bye' 7/10 neither massivley impressed or disaapointed

We were golfing in the area and were looking for a hotel at short notice!
At the reception we were super friendly, price and performance did the rest for our stay!
From experiences in Spain and Portugal, we thankfully had a small car for the somewhat narrow garage entrance, which was included in the price.
Spacious, impeccable room with good sleeping comfort.
Great breakfast buffet.
All in all, an absolute recommendation!

Nice, very clean hotel, warm welcome from the staff, the room was large and the bedding very comfortable. We had a balcony with a view of the sea. The water in the shower, however, had difficulty heating in the evening; we had to wait a long time, which caused a lot of waste. The breakfast is very complete, hot, cold, choice, cakes, bread, cereals etc.

Be careful, the parking lot is very small and if you arrive late, like us at 11 p.m., you will have to look for a space in the street which is not very easy to find. We were lucky a car left its place as we arrived.

Not a pretty looking hotel from the outside but very modern inside. Very professional staff and a high level of service. We had difficulty with the parking garage which was difficult to access and egress. Rooms were quite large, clean and comfortable with a small balcony and a small water view. We had lunch in their beautiful dining room which was a set menu of 20 euros, the food was excellent and very well presented, service was superb. Breakfast was superior with tons of variety. We were also given a free drink at the bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel 5 minutes from the center in a quiet area and relatively easy to park on the street. Everything is new in the hotel, and the rooms are impeccable. And the treatment of the staff is very good. A normal sweet and savory buffet breakfast. I would definitely repeat. The only downside is that they charge ā‚¬3.50 for a 1.5l bottle of water.
