Detailed Reviews
My wife and I arrived tired and a little stressed in Setubal and in much need of some relaxation. From the 1st moment we walked through the door with our daughter we were looked after by Osvaldo, Rute and the team like family. Honestly the staff are super and a credit to the hotel and their city! So kind and helpful and always available to warm our daughters milk, they also kindly arranged her birthday cake. The hotel is on a beautiful square and with hanging baskets outside each window, only a short walk from some excellent places to eat, the harbour and the town beach and a 10 minute walk from the ferry quay where you can reach Troia. Rooms were very clean and breakfast was nice enough too, overall a wonderful stay, we look forward to returning in the future. Thanks to all the team at Solaris for making our 8 night stay so very nice.

The staff was very friendly and professional. Very clean room. The hotel had its own parkingplaces in the front of it. Good breakfast. The location is great, walking distance to a lot of places to eat. Good value for the money.

I spent there 3 weeks, and it was really amazing! All the people in this nice hotel were excelent! Near by Albergaria Solaris you have so so so nice restaurants, with grilled fish, try "o Conv??s", it's the best there!!
This hotel is very clean, with professional people in the heart of Set??bal.
Set??bal is a nice city, it's 30m from Lisbon, and in the summer you can catch ferry boat to go to Troia, and you have there the best day on the beach of your life!!
I miss Set??bal!! I hope go back to Albergaria Solaris this summer!!

It's a small cosy hotel in the heart of Setubal (much better than IBIS which is far out), some nice fish restaurants in walking distance arround.
Nightlife (some disco's) happens just arround the corner but mostly for people arround the age of 20 . It's hard to find bars with people 25+ in Setubal.
Catch a car and plan some daytrips along the to the south and west coast, it's worth!

The Albergaria Solaris was inexpensive and quite comfortable. The hotel is in a great location for walking to dinner, shopping, sight-seeing, and even beaches if you walk to the ferry and go to Troia (you can see dolphins from the ferry!). The rooms are simple and comfortable with A/C and refrigerators and the bathrooms have shower/tub combos. The staff is very polite and professional. Breakfast was quite diverse and included fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs and of course, breads, from 7-10am. There was quite a lot of TV in English. The hotel is right on a plaza where young people hang out at all hours, that with a lot of traffic noise makes it hard to sleep, if that kind of thing bothers you like it does me, with the window/doors open, but with the windows closed and the A/C on it was no problem. We made a joke of our very large room key fob and called it our gas station bathroom key. We really loved the Albergaria Solaris and would happily stay there again.

Its a cozy comfortable place in a quiet location very close to the beach as well as the avenue and good restaurants. Room decor is calm with eye soothing colors not to mention that the cleanliness, house keeping is very very good. The people who work there make your stay comfortable with their personal attention to you.

Old renovated hotel with a good atmosphere, friendly staff and good breakfast. Rooms were clean and good equipped. They were not so good noise insulated and the shower arrangement could have been better adjustable, but all in all I would like to stay there another time. Prices were reasonable included the minibar !

Our walking group were booked into this hotel for a week by our Portugal based walking guide. Before leaving the UK we were unable to find any up to date reviews which was a little concerning.
We need not have worried. Our room was at the back of the hotel overlooking a narrow side street on the second floor. There was no view but this wasn't a concern as we mainly only used the room at night. More importantly, there was no noise from either inside or outside. Others in the group were in the front of the hotel nearer the traffic but there were no complaints from them either.
The rooms are plainly decorated and spotlessly clean. Each room has a quiet air conditioning unit, a safe, a LAN internet connection (not used), a fridge mini bar, a desk, and a flat screen TV. The wardrobe is adequate but only two small drawers for clothes. The en suite bathroom has an over the bath shower and a hair drier. Again, everything was very clean and it all worked well.
Breakfast is served on the ground floor and is an excellent selection of cold food and a small hot selection, all buffet style. The food quality was very good and the staff were very attentive to replenishing anything that was running short.
The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. All spoke English.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of the main town area which is 5-10 minutes walking time. The bus station is approximately 15 minutes from the hotel and the rail station 20-25 minutes. The fishing harbour is 5 minutes from the hotel. There are several restaurants just a few minutes away on the Ave. Luisa Todi and several more alongside the fishing harbour. Lisbon is 50 minutes by rail.
This is a delightful, friendly hotel and we would happily stay there again.

Located in a fairly central area, the hotel is comfortable. We had a double room with about a queen size bed. The pillows were OK. The room, bathroom, and halls were clean, and the elevator is small. The location is quiet, except for the noisy construction next door on the day we arrived. There are a number of cafes and bars within a few steps, and some of the better restaurants are within an easy walk from the hotel. The market and fishing docks are also nearby. The breakfast was standard but not exceptional. The desk staff was very helpful and friendly, with fine spoken English.
