Detailed Reviews
Having reviewed most of the hotels online we decided to stay here for 2 nights due to the central location and great views.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.
The hotel was also very good at ensuring everyone followed the guidelines due to the coronavirus. This made you feel very relaxed.
The hotel has a large terrace on the 4th floor providing amazing views during breakfast or the rest of the day.

my partner and I stayed here for a week. The location is good and the views are amazing. People are friendly. What surprised me is that the breakfast was not included in the price and to be honest 7,5 euros per person for breakfast is too much, especially what's offered and knowing that if you take breakfast in a local cafe you might pay 3 or 4 per person.
The hotel needs urgent maintenance.
We had a safe in the room that we could not use as it was not working.

The hotel is no longer new, but the rooms are spacious and relatively well maintained. It has a covered garage. It has a free coffee machine in the reception area and has a fantastic view over Setúbal. For the price it is quite reasonable.

Very old hotel to be completely renovated. Very large but old rooms and the bathrooms are better not to mention, poor cleaning, nothing in the bathroom has been changed in 30 years (broken, deteriorated and old). Scarce staff, don't get up early because the receptionist is preparing breakfast. I had been before and it was not bad but with the change of owners it got worse. Not recommendable

We stayed for two days whilst visiting family in the area. This is a business hotel but with views to die for! Room was both comfortable and practical ...... and the vista from the balcony stunning. Breakfast was good, proper orange juice for a change, and the staff were both friendly and professional. Recommended!

What a spectacular hotel, from the staff to the space! Cozy space with a modern feel and parking directly at the elevator! I highly recommend it
No flaws, the room was super cute and a space full of light and with a spectacular sea view.

A hotel in its original state, even dilapidated, but
Very large room. a scary parking lot but with electric charging. no glass in the bathroom and the shower is extremely damaged, but terrace with sea view. Very average hotel environment, but the reception is large and, strangely on the 4th floor but the staff is super friendly.

We spent one night here. We had booked a 'Junior Suite' in the old palacete section of the hotel. The first thing I had to do was call reception to request toilet paper for the bathroom. When we returned to our room after dining in Setubal, we decided to bathe and go to bed. Then we noticed the noise, sounds of furniture being dragged along a floor, persistent banging and what sounded like drilling. We called reception to ask if any work was taking place (even though it was by now 11 p.m.). The receptionist could hear the noise on the other end of the phone, it was that bad. It turned out a conference party was using the roof-top dining room three floors above us and we could hear their chairs being scraped along the floor and the elevator taking them to and from the dining room. Fortunately the hotel was not full and ,despite the hour, we were offered a choice of three alternative rooms. Two were no improvement because of the noise of neighbourhood dogs barking. We finally found one which was relatively quiet and were able to sleep.
For a Four-Star rated hotel the Sado was a great disappointment. Apart from the noise and the toilet paper, the breakfast choice was very meagre (cereals, rolls, toast and drinks), and not fresh. However, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particular the night receptionist who held us find an alternative room and our breakfast waiter.

we stayed on a business trip and were lucky to stay in one of the suites they have, which was huge !
All the staff were very friendly, food in the restaurant was excellent, very good value and with a fantastic view of the whole city, but beware, it's not open on a Sunday !
Great views of the city and harbour from all the rooms and the sun terrace, which though, I think they should have made into a pool instead and there is also nothing to do for the kids.
One last thing, having a great view comes with a price, it is on one of the highest hills, which is ok going into the town but coming back up is a true workout !

Dear Gillian,
If you're doing it without any luggage, 30minutes would be enough. But considering you might have at least a backpack, I would definitelly recommend getting a taxi, which is 5€.
The hotel is located on a hill and medium/high level of difficulty of a hike.
