This hotel is fantastic, second time there and I will recommended again. First time was 4 years ago and now in 2016. Good price and quality. Personal is excellent always kind, smiling and willing to help to all the guests. Breakfast is very good, typical Portuguese bakery that I found good. Very calm hotel with nice view. Close to the... Very cool looking place, spotlessly clean and attentive staff. Balcony views are stunning and a great place to chill and drink wine. Location overall is good, its near the Old town and main centre and within walking distance. However the walk back is not particularly pleasant as Funchal is a seriously hilly place and the location of the hotel is... More

The hotel is great. A nice view from the window, spacious room, clean and modern in the new wing. The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. Carina (or Karina) worked really hard and was very helpful to all our queries, but even she couldn't help with the air conditioning system. It is centrally controlled so "one temperature... More

Wonderful, big rooms with cooking opportunity. Rich breakfast, very attentive staff, relaxed location. Possibilities to buy food in the hotel, self service bar :-) Not very touristic, very near the beautiful old town.

The location and views were good (although there was a noisy construction site opposite the hotel), and we liked the garden and abundant common spaces. On the other hand, the service was very disappointing. Wifi was almost never available in the room, and sometimes the whole hotel went offline. The continental breakfast - ham, cheese, bread and sweet yoghurt every... More

This was a very small hotel with about 12/14 rooms. The staff were very friendly. The rooms big with lovely views, very clean and had a small kitchen so you could make a cup of tea/coffee and al cater for yourself. The grounds were lovely and eating breakfast overlooking the fabulous views was a lovely way to start your day.... More

Spent 2 nights here. Great welcome from the night manager (Nano). Car park excellent. Hotel an unusual mixture of old and new. Service friendly and good. Each room has small kitchen if you want to make your own breakfast but for 8.50 euros breakfast in the older part of the hotel or on the terrace is a good choice. WI... More

The staff at this hotel, are very helpful and very friendly, with a high level of service. The hotel room is clean and the rooms at the front have either a view of the sea or a garden view. They have a large courtyard garden where they grow their own bananas (part of your breakfast) and they also grow herbs... More

We booked this hotel as a base in which to walk the levadas. Although we chose to stay in a sea view suite with kitchenette rather than the hotel, it was quiet, clean and very comfortable. You can eat breakfast in the hotel or use the kitchen in your apartment. The breakfast was good value 8 euros and plenty to... More

Breakfast holds claim to strong, Portuguese coffee and homegrown, organic herbal teas and fruits. The charming service team will welcome you "home" as cherished friends and family, assuredly sharing with you the island's best kept secrets. Furnishings in the rooms are bright and breezy with wooden floors and air conditioning throughout. All rooms are connected to complimentary wireless internet, many with well-equipped kitchenettes and open terraces. Suites are located in the original mansion, while the studios are situated in a modern annex. Covered, on-site parking is both secure and complimentary.
