An immaculate, beautifully designed hotel set in stunning and peaceful tropical gardens with two heated swimming pools. The hotel has a lovely outside area for breakfast, lunch and drinks. The rooms were all spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed with large sliding glass doors to outside private sun-loungers. The staff are all exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. It’s an ideal place to stay, relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s a good 20 minute walk down to the town centre or a 7 Euro taxi ride. The hotel has a lovely outdoor terrace for breakfast, lunch and drinks. It was regrettable that the hotel’s dinner option was limited to an expensive tasting menu with matched wines at 85 Euros pp (this was possibly due to covid) but we would have liked the choice of an a la cart menu - in consequence, we only took dinner at the hotel on one occasion (there are several decent restaurants within 10 mins walk).

This was our fifth stay at this hotel and again it could not be faulted. The rooms, gardens, pools and location are excellent and it makes it very easy to reach the town, promenade, lido area and restaurants. What makes this hotel so special though are the staff, they are so friendly, helpful and provide a wonderful service. Look forward to returning again.

I have never stayed on holiday in luxury hotels in the past but I am a convert and will be back. It is the staff that make it special. An oasis in the middle of Funchal. Everyone in Madeira seems to speak english and made a real effort to ensure we had a memourable holiday,

This is our third visit - and consistently fabulous. Beautiful grounds, lovely rooms - staff are all professional and friendly. A few post covid changes - felt extremely safe - recommend to anyone looking for a total escape. We would not suggest this place for anyone unsteady on their feet, or with children. Thanks team at QCB - we’ll be back.

Quite simply one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. Situated in a former banana plantation and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The former Leacock family home, now the Manor House, houses 5 suites and maintains an old world charm, whereas the more recently added garden and premium suites have classic but modern lines. All of the rooms are nicely situated with a pleasant outlook. We were on a B&B basis, which gave us the option to try several of the plentiful local restaurants . The breakfast, served on the terrace was excellent with plenty of choice and the option of an evening meal in the Manor House, which is a set menu with optional wine pairing, is an absolute treat. The town was within easy walking distance, about 10 minutes to the sea front and another 15 mins to the heart of the old town, which was well worth exploring. What really turns this hotel from a great place to stay into an exceptional place is the quality of the team. From the reception, to the restaurant, the housekeepers and gardeners, every single colleague that we spoke to was charming, professional, helpful and friendly. I can't remember all of their names but special thanks to the staff members that we had the most interaction with, namely Carlos, Igor, Sonia, Humberto, Samantha, Robina, Christian, Andre, Joao, Andraia, Carolina - the fact that I can remember all of these names gives an indication of how welcome and special they made us feel. This hotel must have a fantastic training programme in order to turn out such a universally great standard from all of the team. Worth hiring a car too as the rest of the island has stunning scenery and the lavada walks are a great way to see more of the interior. We also went to Porto Santo for a day, which was nice for a change but not much to see other than a nice sandy beach. In summary, I can't recommend the Quinta da Casa Branca highly enough. You really need to go and see it for yourself!
