We started with a room with a mountain view but upgraded to one with a balcony and a superb view of Fuchal and the Harbour. the hotel has anice tropical garden and a pool area. We had B and B but took one or two other meals including a bar lunch and dinner.all was fine. Nice sauna too. looked preferable...

Me, my wife and son stayed in this hotel over the New Year on a bed & breakfast basis. The room really was only made to take two people but they crammed another single bed in to accommodate us, a little disappointing, but we managed. The room was a garden view one but the balcony afforded us a great view...

Well appointed if a little dated, good location and excellent view from balcony (room 225). Short but steep walk down to very nice local bar. Do not book half board unless you have portugese taste and enjoy affected haute cuisine style, no choices offered for dinner which meant I rejected most of the courses on offer except dessert, and I...

Pleasant enough. Bit tired and lacking atmosphere, particularly the hotel bar which needs to work harder to compete with the competition a short walk away. No tea/coffee facilities in rooms. Staff all a bit maudlin ...maybe had a long season!

What a find! A beautiful hotel, with a fantastic tiered garden, including their own Banana Plantation, HUGE red poinsettia bushes and lots of Birds of Paradise flowering plants - which as I own a florist shop in England, was absolutely fascinating! We paid a little extra for a sea view - and what an amazing view! From the little white...

Stayed here for a week .Lovely hotel with very helpful staff .Only short walk from the old town which has an abundance of good restaurants. The last uphill climb back to the hotel was shortened considerably when we realised we could gain access via the garage ,ask at reception if you are staying here .

We were given Room 103, which was said to have a sea view but would be more realistically described as having a view over the harbour and the hotel gardens. The view was great so no real issues there. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable but could have done with more drawer-space. The balcony was large and sheltered so...

Offered an upgrade to a room with a harbour view which was lovely. Very good location for the old town, and not far to walk to the harbour. Very pleasant reception. Good breakfast, enjoyed the evening meal we had. Would most certainly return given the opportunity.

Fabulous hotel in the Old Town part of Funchal. Just up from the cobbled streets and cafe bars it is close enough to be at the harbour in minutes and yet quiet enough during the evening. Good sized rooms and a very extensive breakfast buffet selection. The pool wasn't yet heated so a little on the fresh side but there...

We were delighted by the location as it is very close to the old town with lots of restaurants. We both enjoyed the view from our room and the buffet breakfast. But we were less satisfied with the appearance of the room. The bathroom door, inside was damaged, the toilet seat cover was chipped and there is a considerable amount of...
