We only stayed one night in this lovely hotel but it was the best part of our week in Madeira. We arrived early and were warmly welcomed and allowed to store our luggage until our room was ready. Our room was a superior garden view with a balcony . It was spacious and airy with a cosy seating area in front of the t.v . The bed was very comfortable with blanket throws for extra warmth. We had a delicious bowl of fruit , bottled water , tea and coffee with a carton of milk provided . There was a good sized fridge which was a welcome addition to the room. The bathroom was a good size with nice amenities ,bathrobes and slippers. The grounds of the hotel are delightful with a lovely pool where we had lunch and stunning gardens that even in January had many plants in bloom and the scent was beautiful .You could spend every day walking these gardens and find something new. There is a mini bus provided that you can book to take you to Funchal and back which we used . We had dinner in the evening and this was excellent and the wine superb. We ended the day in the lounge listening to the band. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and we plan to return for a longer stay for our next visit to Madeira.…
Absolutely amazing hotel, the service was first class, the hotel immaculately kept, food was very good, a fantastic oasis of calm and tranquility...we will return definitely in the not too distant future. Thank you for a fabulous week!!!
Just arrived back from an absolutely wonderful stay at the Jardins do Lago hotel in Funchal. This is an incredible hotel with amazing staff who really made our holiday very special. A big thank you to all the staff, including Victor, Fatima, Patricia and Fabio. Their professionalism and attention to detail is what make this place a joy to visit. The hotel's botanical gardens are another high point, and are meticulously kept, giving us many hours of exploration and joy. This ii one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and we will be back.
The thing that makes this hotel is its staff. They go out of their way to make you happy, and they give the impression that they actually enjoy it, too. The botanic garden is beautiful; a day by the pool, which I normally hate, is fabulous there because what you really do is spend a day in the garden. Poolside food is delicious and freshly prepared. Hotel is immaculate and spotlessly clean, food excellent. This was our first time in January and the guests seemed slightly younger, slightly less formal and slightly less English than what we experienced before. All in all, we were looked after beautifully!
I hesitate to write too glowingly about the wonderful Quinta Jardin do Lago as I would like to keep it a secret ! It is without doubt a perfect place to stay in Funchal . It is set in beautiful grounds.. it is not too big or too small, ALL the staff are amazing, helpful, polite, interested and seem to worry over every small detail. The rooms are clean and airy and the breakfast is really heavenly. Whatever you do … do not tell anyone else about this hotel!😂
Excellent hotel in lovely grounds on the outskirts of Funchal. The hotel is perfectly designed with nice pool and surrounding gardens, small but useful gym with sauna, excellent rooms with balcony. Breakfasts are superb and dinner is very good as is the bar. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff is a particular strength.
This lovely hotel went beyond our expectations. The setting is perfect, surrounded by beautiful accessible botanic gardens. The staff are gracious and professional but always helpful. The food is of a consistent excellent quality, using fresh and quality ingredients. Our bedroom was five star and a real sun trap on the balcony. We would recommend this hotel.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was an absolute delight. you are made more than welcome by attentive, charming and friendly staff. The standard set by Quinta Jardins do Lago friendly staff is more than five star quality status. It is backed up in every area by excellent service, outstanding quality of food and superb presentation with luxurious surroundings. What we like is that the hotel offer no fuss sheer luxury. Phenomenal attention to detail. And everyone goes the extra mile. It is so tremendous that we have booked again
It has all been said, but we just cannot fault this hotel. It was our second visit, with a gap during lockdown. This review was from our visit in September, a bit belated but enough to prompt friends to book for 2023. It is often a let-down when you go back to a place you loved, but in this case we felt everything had just got better. The already extensive garden had been enlarged, the food was even more delicious and every member of staff must be congratulated on being the friendliest of people. We upgraded to a superior room and were lucky enough to have a wonderful wrap-round balcony, giving us views of Funchal, the mountains, the garden and the sea. Breakfasts were served at your table in the exceptional garden and to complement your order you could ask for the sliced fruit – quite delicious. This came before our enjoyable cooked breakfast – our favourite being the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and avocado. The hotel had been re-decorated since our last visit in beautiful restful colours. Our room was most welcoming, with a basket of fruit and a daily bottle of water plus complementary chocolates each evening, brought to us by the delightful housekeeping staff. There were two musical evenings during our visit, one as an accompaniment to dinner in the garden – so enjoyable. We chose the half board option, which saved a journey into town and was most relaxing with excellent service to go with the most delicious of dinners. We had lunch by the pool a few times, which was most relaxing. We do not know what the future holds, but if it includes another visit to this exceptional hotel we would be more than happy.…
This was our fourth visit to Quinta Jardins do Lago, and will return next May 2023. The hotel, gardens and staff are exceptional. All the staff, front of house, bar, restuarant, kitchen and cleaners are pleasant and helpful, they do not know the meaning of the word no.
