We have just returned from a 3 night stay. We found the staff very friendly & very helpful. We had a standard room & it suited our needs perfectly. Bed was very comfortable. We had a inside room, so no outside noise. Yes the shower & toilet have glass opaque doors, but as a couple we did not find it...

Nice staff, excellent breakfast, good location. It was easy to take the line E Metro to the centrally located hotel. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. Be warned that the hotel is very dark.

During our recent visit to Porto we stayed at Hotel Teatro. The hotel is modern, we enjoyed the buffet, beds were comfortable and hotel staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed the central proximity for walking to many attractions, restaurants and shops.

Theatre themed hotel in Porto. Staff pleasant. Hotel clean. Breakfast fine. Situated in a reasonable area close to train station and metro. Although there is building work going on directly opposite the hotel. As the hotel is theatre themed - the hotel is very dark inside. Bedrooms very small but in contrast the bathroom was large. The biggest down side...

A great hotel - beautiful design, well thought of details, the room was pampering. It is well positioned in the city in a walking distance from all the touristic highlights and the nightlife and the service was just great. Pure indulgence! Highly recommended!!!

This was fascinating. The breakfast is European standard so just average. It's good, but the same as just about everyone else. The decor is dark, dark brown and reminiscent of many middle ages paintings. Is that intentional? Probably because the theme pervades the pub. Location is terrific, very close to transport and although there is construction across the road it...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The location is great, very close to public transportation and to the city center. The personnel was friendly and helpful. The free glass of port wine received as a welcome gift was very appreaciated. Breakfast is good and offers a large choice of food (and portugese sparkling wine) and breakfast hours are...

We stayed there 3 nights (booked in advance). We were 3 (2 adults and 1 five month old baby). Even though we are platinum members of SPG, we got a regular room street side (noisier) and near the elevator (which you constantly hear going up and down, very irritating). They didn't have the obligation to upgrade us (because they are...

First of all a big warning to everyone who's currently considering this hotel, as of March 2017. There's a huge construction site involving complete rebuild of an entire block opposite to the hotel. Judging by the scale of it, it will be at least another year before it's completed. The construction site makes the whole area very ugly and dusty....

Lovely hotel, yes dim but very comfortable. Bathroom impractical. Shower very good, but getting in and out...lethal (room 503). No practical shelving for wash bags, hooks for towels no where near shower, due to theatrical design, large lip to bath which is tricky to negotiate! Ps I am 6'5 and found the gap quite wide to step out of. Bed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Teatro arose from the spot where the Baquet Theatre was inaugurated in 1859. A hundred and fifty-one years later, the unique, refined and bohemian environment of the Theatre has been revived here in a hotel. The Reception represents a box office, where each guest receives a ticket to access their room. The Restaurant and Bar have become the new Palco and Plateia, offering creations for a discerning palate. The inner courtyard is a versatile garden or a quiet and secluded haven from the tumult of the city. The 74 comfortable rooms and suites are colored in gold and bronze, and the gym on the top floor transforms the Hotel into a true arena for action and relaxation. ... more   less
