It's a castle so it'll be out in the country on a hill perhaps ? Yes ? No. No more than 7 minutes on the flash Oporto subway will bring you to Marques station, and from there it's a 150m walk down the slope. By taxi from the centre, it'll be around 8 EUR. It exudes style, and frankly you'll...

Try to imagine a place lost in time full of features and then ask for it to be in a city with parking and then ask for a family room which you can share with your kids and does not cost the earth....well we found it here and it is not a long walk from the city centre ( the...

We chose not to take our car into the centre of O Porto, instead left our car at the airport and got a taxi. We were absolutely amazed on arrival as, from the outside it looks unassuming but once through the gated driveway ( so very safe should you wish to park a car) one enters a world of charming,...

where to start with this hotel? I cannot say enough. Think hotel......and throw the thought out of your head.....I doubt you will have stayed in somewhere like this. it is a completely individual experience. Travelling in time. If you want, modern, normal, uncharacteristic its not for you. If you want to feel like you are royality its for you. This...

I loved this place at once! A very special and unique hotel. If you fancy something off-the-beaten-track, this is the place for you. It isn't as easily accessible to the Ribeira or Clerigos as some of the other hotels, but with the well-run Metro nearby and cheap taxis of Porto this is no problem. The welcome was warm, the breakfast...

We were attracted to this hotel having read reviews on it and felt that we had to see it for ourselves. The hotel is in two parts - part in the 'castle' and part in the grounds. We stayed in the castle part and yes the stairs are a bit narrow in places but the answer is don't have such...

We have spent the last three months travelling on an extended working trip. We have stayed in more than a dozen hotels '' fancy, budget, tourist-focused and intensively business oriented. Finally, in Porto, Portugal, we found a place that reminded us of the old joys of staying uin a nice hotel. Do you remember when there was a sense of...

Quite a lot has been said about this strange hotel already. And we suppose it really is a peculiar place - no lifts, narrow stairs, freakish interior (who is behing the idea of the two of you looking into your separate mirrors when sitting on the small sofa?) and very squieky beds. But it has ambience. The staff is cool/reserved,...

This was our last stop on a 2wk trip of camping (so as you can imagine my standards are not very high) and decided to stay in a hotel for the last 3days. We booked this hotel over the phone and were offered a garden room with an "extra large bed", ensuite etc. We were very disappointed with the room....
