Ive been to Portugal at least 15 times already. Coming from Goa ..its a home away from home. This time i decided to skip Lisboa and visit Porto instead and boy was that a Great decision. I checked in at the Grande Hotel Pais in Baixa Porto, a stones throw from Alaidos and Sao Bento train stations. From the time...

This hotel is a lovely older hotel decorated with many antiques. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Our day started with a most complete and varied breakfast in a charming breakfast room. A Friday night was the first night of our stay. Our room faced the street. Unfortunately, we were kept awake by young people returning from restaurants,...

Central location great for exploring city. Hotel has maintained its elegance from former days & staff helpful & friendly. Is next to nightlife so be prepared as buzzing until early hours, but not a big deal for us. Very good value in a lovely city.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel. Great location, beautiful garden and a wonderful breakfast but so noisy throughout Friday and Saturday night. It seems this street is the route from the trendy bars and restaurants down to the train station. It required ear plugs to get a nights sleep. I did complain to the management but they were booked...

Lovely rustic hotel, lots of period features and room spotless. Breakfast was a good choice of meats, cakes and puddings. Staff very friendly and efficient. Only downside was the noise from the street late at night, go for a back room and it will be perfect.

The hotel really is the oldest and therefore full of vintage and antique furnishings. The rooms are clean, beds are good, the staff wonderful and the breakfast outstanding. You are within walking distance (if your able,as Porto is on a slope) to everything important to see. There are lots of restuarants at all prices nearby. Major transportation buses the next...

Grande Hotel de Paris is a lovely olden style hotel with modern facilities located right in the centre of all major tourist attractions in Porto. We stayed two nights in this hotel. The rooms are spacious and I think most of the rooms have a balcony as we had one. The buffet breakfast was good with lots of choice of...

We have just spent the last 3 nights here. The decor in the hotel is very dated but it was spotless and our room was cleaned everyday. Our room faced on the back so heard no noises from the street like some people have complained about. The only thing missing from the room was a kettle to make a cup...

When researching places to stay this one was intriguing because it had good reviews and an interesting story (oldest hotel in Porto). It is also in a nice central location that makes access to everything Porto has to offer easy. On the surface, it looked like a great choice. It wasn't. The general interior feel of the hotel is decent....
