We chose to stay at Hotel da Bolsa because of its great location and overall good reviews. The rooms we were allocated were small (3 on first floor, 1 on fifth), with tired décor and spartan furnishings. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the aircon worked. The safe didn't work but was promptly fixed for us. There was an... More

The location is well placed for train station, river and historical centre of town, The interior of the hotel is drab, cramped for space and tired in many places, and the breakfast service is virtually non existent with a sparse range of cold foods, tables not cleared leading to congestion and items not replenished when needed. The reception staff are... More

We stayed for 5 nights in room 101. The hotel location is very convenient: we didn't have a particularly nice view but it was less than 5 minutes walk to the beautiful Ribeira and we were very close to the sightseeing bus route, boat trips and lots of great bars and restaurants. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.... More

I stayed for two nights at the Hotel da Bolsa in mid July 2012. Having travelled to Porto first by bus from Santiago and then transferring to metro to the old downtown core, I found the hotel after a few wrong turns. It ended up being about a 10 min. walk from the train station. It is in the heart... More

We, a retired couple, stayed at the Hotel da Bolsa for four nights in July 2012. The hotel was perfectly adequate for visiting Porto. Its location is good - about a block and a half uphill from the not-to-be-missed Palacio Bolsa and the Sao Francisco church and monastery, and within walking distance to the Ribeira (a manageable uphill on the... We had a very nice stay at this hotel. We were fortunate to get a room on the 6th floor, corner view, overlooking the river, the Stock Exchange bldg, the bridge and all the other sights facing towards the Ribeira. So, this certainly affects our impression as it really was a stunning view. We enjoyed it immensely. We spent time... More

Located in the heart of the world heritage area, just up from the Bolsa, a little down from Sao Bento railway and metro station. The area is still quite run down, as indeed is much of central Oporto. Reception was friendly and efficient. There is a bar and a lounge. Half an hour´s free internet use on a guest computer... More

Possibly the best hotel in town regarding service, position and value for money? We had a room on the top floor with a fantastic view over the city and the river. Everything was clean and lovely. Breakfast was excellent with fresh Portuguese croissants and lots more. We had just two small complaints, the folding bed for our 8 yr old... More
