Arrived at the hotel and could see the next morning that the toilet was leaking from behind and made the whole room smell of poo. I told reception and they sent an engineer to the room but he could not do anything. When checking out the same day I asked to not pay the whole amount due to not getting...

Pão de Açúcar H, Guest Relations Manager at Pao de Acucar Hotel, responded to this review

We would like, first of all, to say that these statements are untrue and defamatory. The reservation of Mr. Dean was in a group of 5 rooms booked in Pão de Açucar Hotel, and all went well with the other guests and rooms. This guest arrived at reception and talked to one of our female receptionists, at check-out time, claiming...

We changed rooms to be away from the back of the hotel where the view was a bit dull. Staff were perfectly helpful and friendly and more than happy to accommodate our request. Rooms were large. Both had 2 bedrooms with period furniture. Spacious and centrally located but away from the main square. Just a minute of two's walk from...

We stayed in this place about seven years ago and were so happy to find it this go 'round. It is centrally located so you are down the street from the train station, Majestic Cafe, Cafe Guaranay, if that's how it s spelled, and what is quickly becoming the very hip city of Porto. You can go full bore for...

Went for a wet weekend break in February. The retro feel felt a little tacky in some places with broken toys and furniture on display. Breakfast was ok but recommend heading out to near by patisseries. Staff we're helpful and the room was clean if lacking a view.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Although we didn't get the room we had booked. We booked a superior room and we're given a triple bed room. The room was clean, bathroom tiny, remote control air-conditioning worked superbly. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was adequate no complaints. The hotel is located near to all...

The hotel is quite pleasant in a quirky sort of way. The room, particularly the bathroom is spacious and clean. No fault withe accommodation at all. Service on check in was efficient and helpful. The only gripe was on going down to the bar I was completely ignored by the waiter to the point that I left and went to...

A very quirky/retro hotel in a fantastic location.Staff were extremely helpful advising us on places to visit and to eat even phoning the restaurants for us to reserve a table. Bedrooms basic but more than adequate and very clean.Breakfast is a bit of a chore as the room where its served is quite small. All in all i would recommend...

We were pretty sure we had booked a nice hotel, but we were wrong. It was freezing everywhere. not very service minded staff. The breakfast was terrible. They didn't even have a coffee machine. Only white bread, ham, cheese and jam. A few yoghurts. Nothing fresh. Not even fruits. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything. Not...

My lovely partner booked this as a birthday treat.. Easy to find.. Close to Trinidade station.. Turned up before check in so left cases at reception. And found cafe apolo next door to have refreshments (€0.50 a cracking coffee!) Upon check in cases were in room waiting. Staff excellent... Room a bit musty but it is an old building. Beware...

This hotel was very comfortable and reception staff very friendly and helpful. Very centrally located but in a fairly quiet area. Certainly a little quirky but would be happy to stay there again. Breakfast wasn't exciting but was normal European buffet and there was plenty of it. The only negative would be the 'ban' on washing clothes in the room...
