I found the Pao de Acucar to be one of the most charming mid-range hotels I've stayed in. For the four days I spent there, I enjoyed the quiet of the room, the decor, and the proximity to the town center.

We spent twelve days in Portugal in Nov, 2007. We booked this hotel thru Booktravelbound. The room was very old, dark and dingy. The bathtub drain didn't work and the staff did nothing to fix it. When the toilet was flushed, water backed up in...More

My room didn´t have a tub, but it was enormous, very spacious, anc clean. There is no parking in the building, but there is one just by the corner (it is very very near, like 10 steps or less), so no trouble with the luggage. I think we paid 12 euros/day. Hope it helps! by the way, we enjoyed a lot our stay in there. The hotel is fun because of the old stuff around and breakfast is fine.
