Belomonte GH is conveniently located a few minutes walk downhill to the charming Cais da Ribeira area by the river Douro. Bear in mind that there is no passenger lift only a tiny luggage lift and that some stair climbing is therefore necessary. We had room 6 at the top of the building which offered a nice view down to the river and Ribeira. The room was large and clean with a good bathroom. The choice at breakfast was good and Joana was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.
Fabulous visit to the guesthouse, lovely warm welcome and the staff are wonderful. The recommendations made were great and they even organised taxi transfers to and from the airport for us. Rooms are very spacious and lovely, a great mix between contemporary and traditional. Breakfasts were lovely and catered to my gluten free diet with no problems. Special mention to Joana for exceptional service. Highly recommended.
Even before we arrived, we received wonderful tips for our Porto visit. Only 6 rooms allow for attention to every guest. The rooms are beautiful and the location could not have been better. Easy walk from the train station and many wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood. Each day starts with a delicious breakfast. Joanna is a gem. Tips: Don’t believe google maps regarding the walking route from the train. There is no closed road requiring you to go around. Head straight for the hotel. Tip 2: Room 5 has 2 windows. Nice view. Tip 3: no matter which room you book, you will be walking up stairs. No elevator. So choose to your ability. They do have a luggage lift.
The guest house is quaint and the attention to detail is special. Joanna is the best! She was so very helpful in every way! Take her suggestions! The breakfast was nice! I recommend you stay here if you head to Porto!
Ana and every other host at the hotel could not have been kinder. They are proud of Porto and want to showcase it. They wanted to hear about what we did and tours we went on to share with other clients. They were also kind enough to make us dinner reservations as well. The hotel is all stone and wood and lovely. The bathrooms are huge and quite modern and local amenities! The air conditioning worked well and we thought the street might be loud but it wasn't at all. The wooden shutters did a great job of keeping both noise and light out in the evening. We also had a very small balcony which was nice in the evening. We were in room 3. I would caution that there is no elevator so prepare to use the stairs! The location is great too - to go up or down in Porto!
"We were on the low floor and had no view other than the street but it was easy getting in and out."Read full review
